Tyson's Daughter-Critical Condition
The four-year-old daughter of boxing legend Mike Tyson was in "extremely critical condition" after she was injured in a treadmill accident at her home in Phoenix, Arizona, police said.
Exodus Tyson was found by her seven-year-old brother on a treadmill "with her neck on ... a cable" attached to the machine, police said in a statement.
The mother "took her daughter off the cable" and called authorities, according to police.
Former world heavyweight champion Tyson traveled from Las Vegas to Phoenix where his daughter was on life support in critical condition on Monday, police said.

Geeze, you can't turn your back on children for 1 minute, can you Peg? In my class if I turn around for a minute, someone has fallen out of their chair. That's because they sit on their feet or their body is half on their desk and the other part is in the space between the top and bottom of their chair.
It's hard to get our kids to sit right:-5

Mike Tyson's Daughter Dies After Hanging Accident
By ANNA DIMOND
Mike Tyson's 4-year-old daughter, Exodus Tyson, has died after accidentally hanging herself on a piece of exercise equipment at home.
Phoenix Police Department Officer James Holmes told TVGuide.com that Exodus Tyson died at 11:45 a.m. (MST) in what he called a "tragic accident." An autopsy is expected to be performed. Holmes said the family is asking for privacy in the matter.
Tyson's daughter was put on life support after she was discovered Monday with her neck caught in a treadmill cord that hangs from the machine's console. Her mother had removed the cord and tried to revive her before she was rushed to a Phoenix hospital.
The former heavyweight boxing champ was in Las Vegas, but flew to Phoenix immediately after the accident.

Yes, this is tragic and has been all over our local news, along with daily toddler drownings.
In the case of Tyson's life style - he has a home gym in his Mansion, some of us are lucky to afford a Ping Pong Table.
Whether allowed in this Gym or not - either way the kids were NOT supervised.
In most of toddler drownings - the kids are NOT supervised.
I hate watching our news - never any good news.
I know supervised or not - kids move like a bolt of lightning.
If it's quiet - you better go check on them
Tyson's daughter wasn't expected to pull through this - which indicates she was unattended in the gym for a 5- 10 minute period, if not longer without oxygen..
How terrible - Life altering for all..
I'll have to Pray for the S.O.B. Mr. Tyson
It's the Mrs. my heart really goes out to..

I knew she didn't stand a chance begin on life support.....but this really has shocked me.
so tragic, and it could have been prevented........I know yes, accidents happen, but it only takes a second to unplug the treadmill when not in use.

From what I heard this morning on the news it was the actual power cord it wasn't plugged in at the time. My understand of what they said was she must have been playing under the machine an wedged her head into the under side of the machine where the cord is connected to the bottom of the machine and couldn't get out. I may be wrong so please correct this if that is the case.

Mike Tyson 'devastated' after daughter, 4, dies in accident on treadmill

Former boxing champion Mike Tyson has said there are no words to describe his grief after his four-year-old daughter died after a tragic accident in her home.
Exodus Tyson died in hospital after she was found with her neck caught in the power cable of a treadmill machine at her home in Phoenix in the U.S.
She was rushed to hospital in an 'extremely critical condition' and put on a life support machine, but pronounced dead yesterday at noon local time.

Police said the little girl had been playing on the treadmill at the home gym on Monday when her head apparently slipped inside a cord hanging under the console. The treadmill was not plugged in at the time.
She was found with the cord around her neck by her seven-year-old brother. While emergency services rushed to the scene, the girl's mother, identified by E! News as Sol Xochitl, tried to revive the child.
Attempts to revive the child were made as she was taken to a nearby St Joseph's Hospital and put on life support.
Tyson, 42, was in Las Vegas at the time of the accident and flew to Phoenix on Monday.
Last night he and his family said in a statement: 'We are grateful for the tremendous outpouring of love and prayers from all over the world.
'There are no words to describe the tragic loss of our beloved Exodus.
'We ask you now to please respect our need at this very difficult time for privacy to grieve and try to help each other heal.'
Police Sergeant Andy Hill said it was a 'tragic accident', saying police did not know how long Exodus had been trapped there.
'Somehow she was playing on this treadmill, and there's a cord that hangs under the console - it's kind of a loop,' he said.
'Either she slipped or put her head in the loop, but it acted like a noose, and she was obviously unable to get herself off of it.'

sometimes it seems that no matter what we do to protect our children, **** is just gonna happen. what irritates the hell out of me at times like this, is the notion that the accident was preventable if only the family had bothered to be more diligent.
bull-poop.
buy a home and safety socket all the outlets. probably better yet if you just opt out of electrical outlets entirely, come to think on it..
for sure no furniture, because there is of course the potential for harm with anything the child might climb on or use.
if you must have anything the child could possibly touch, you have to be sure that it can be stored away and locked up EVERYTIME you leave the room. and make damned sure those locks and keys are not left negligently lying around when not in use.
there is no longer the option of tragic accident in todays society.. everything is preventable, if only you had been as smart as those judging you after an event. society gleefully takes on the role that once was controlled by a families own sense of guilt and doubt and what ifs... the crucification of the survivors..
and my heart just breaks for them every time i see this callus and unfeeling extra burden they get handed by strangers

Unless you live in home with padded walls and no furniture, there is always something a child can get into that could harm them. It is very difficult to watch a child 24/7. Yes, that room should have been closed off and locked if possible. so many home accidents are impossible to prevent. Best anyone can do is be alert and if the child isn;t seen or heard from for a few minutes, find them.

No matter who you are - you never get over a loss of a child.
The Mansion was a open arena - it takes you 10 minutes to get to the GYM
Sure the Gym portion of the Mansion should've been locked, off limits to kids - why, ?? the family (kids) are in the Gym when Tyson is working out - obviously the Mother found it to be harmless.
yes - the machine was unplugged - curious children - unsupervised 4 yr old.
it only takes a minute & they're quick.
Not to be critical - just curious, what was the Mother busy doing..?
on the phone - cooking - or snorting a line .?
unfortunate terrible accident, just terrible.
I'd rather lose a ear

I totally agree with you. It's very easy to be smug after some-one elses Child has died and come out with the 'Should have done this or should have done that'. There but for the grace of god goes anyone who has had small children. Nasty comments about the ineptness of the parents dilegence are futile and empty after the tradegy. I hope the Tyson family can find some comfort.
