What occupation do you wish you had tried, or you wish you could have tried?

My dad offered to buy me flying lessons when I was a teen. I turned him down. I just didn't realize the number of opportunities in aviation then. :(

oh wow flying lessons! and you turned them down,,, tut tut silly you:wah: mind thats something im always saying,, the only things you can regret in life are the things you did'nt do:thinking:

Anyway,,, what occupation do i wish i had tried,,, hmm thats a hard question for me even now,,, I remember leaving school without a clue as to what i wanted to do,, i went in to bakeries and kitchens mainly,, and have had a variety of different jobs throughout my life so far. But lately i have been wishing i got in to working with animals in some way ,,, too late i think for me to become a vet,,:wah: but maybe in a rescue centre or those kennel places some people leave their dogs etc to go on hols:)

being short sighted shuts off a lot of occupations. Aviation for one. The other was a merchant navy deck officer which is what I really wanted to do. Got offered an engineering cadetship but it's tough having a knockback when you'd set your heart on something. Ended up working as a supermarket manager-boy did i hate that.

ye know ,, people dont think about it much when others wear glasses,, or contacts ,, or when they say oh im short sighted,, or whatever other reason they need to wear glasses,, so i suppose we dont relaise how much it can actually affect your life! when it seems such a small thing, My duaghters boyfriend had retinosa pigmentosa and he is not even allowed to drive:(

I was lucky as i got to do exactly what i wanted to do. My father was very dissapointed that none of us wanted to take over his garage but i went into horse racing as soon as i was 18 yrs old. I would loved to have been a proffessional jockey but was way too tall.

Ahhhh, you have a good point there. Lots and lots of walking and stopping and walking and stopping and petting a friendly puppy or two. Warmer climate though. It can get quite nasty in Philly in the winter.

Where I am is close enough to Lake Michigan to get the lake effect snow. It can be grewsome at times. Last winter was just awful for snow and ice. I swear it snowed a bit every other day and you couldn't wear enough layers to keep warm in.

Honestly, I am happy with my past job history as well as my current one...Personnel.

:wah: As a child I envisioned myself as all three of these; a dancer, a singer , and an actress.

Hi Sunshine,

My cousin Sharon lives in Kalamazoo and she has to go around Lake Michigan to visit her hometown of Buffalo, NY. She said that it's awful at times and impassable. Geeze, Lake Michigan is like an ocean:wah:
