"Treated water, high fructose corn syrup, lemon juice concentrate, citric acid, natural flavor, sodium hexametaphosphate, gum Arabic, potassium benzoate, postassium sorbate, salt, glycerol ester of wood rosin, calcium disodiuym edta, yellow 5"

The above is off the bottle of something, so what is it, what do you do with it? ;)

I will confirm if the right answer is given or post the answer in a few days. :lips:

Maybe we should read the ingredients on the bottles and packets a little more carefully. We're all guilty of eating/drinking/rubbing our horses with this sort of stuff without really knowing what goes into them.

Scary stuff

I have been an avid label reader for many years, one of them irritating people that draw your attention to the 'chemicals' the manufacturers stick in stuff you are supposed to ingest safely.

The fact of the matter is that Laws make manufacturers list every item, in the UK I believe, by volume, largest constituent first, then progressively to the lesser quantities

So by the same token.......would you want to ingest ....... "Dihydrogen monoxide" ?

Or allow your children near such a thing ?

I may not pass this way for a few days......so to put you all out of your misery and to save Google a few hits.....its only water

You CAN get TOO paranoid you know ?

Its not in the least bit paranoid.

One of the ingredients Quinn listed is Potassium Benzoate. Its not the sort of thing I want to be ingesting.

From Wiki .....

Main article: benzene in soft drinks

In combination with ascorbic acid (vitamin C), sodium and potassium benzoate may form benzene, a known carcinogen. Heat, light and shelf life can affect the rate at which benzene is formed. The Food and Drug Administration was performing tests in 2006, but the Environmental Working Group is calling for the FDA to publicly release all tests and use their authority to force companies to reformulate to avoid the potential benzene forming combination.[3]

Potassium Benzoate (or E212) was recently described by the Food Commission, who campaign for 'safer, healthier food in the UK', as "mildly irritant to the skin, eyes and mucous membranes".

While we're on the subject of whats in your food, drink, etc. Take a guess at this one....

Water, high fructose, corn syrup, glucose-fructous syrup, sucrose syrup, citric acid, natural flavor, salt, sodium citrate, monopotassium phosphate, modiefied food starch, red 40, glycerol ester of rosin?
