Embarassing Doctor Visit

Post by chonsigirl »

Well, my little old wrist hurt for two weeks, got better for a week, then tweaked again. Of course it is all TKD related! So I asked the school nurse to check it out, and she said I needed X-rays.

"What, I only get those for dentist visits!" I told her.

She gave me that look, and I totted off to the those local emergency doctors. (so I wouldn't hear it from my doctor, he already saw the bruised ribs)

Doctor: How did you originally get this injury?

Me: I broke 4 boards sir.

Doctor: How did you stumble and fall on these boards?

Me: I didn't sir, I broke them in a tournament.

Doctor: You're a little old for this, aren't you? (he must have called my doctor first, I know it with that comment!)

Me: I got the 1st place trophy!

Doctor: The technician will X-ray those old bones of yours. (giving me that look too!)

Me: Just give me a plastic cast, I made it to join the Community College Band next week, I have to play on Monday.

Doctor: We'll see.................( shaking his head)

Got the X-rays, the hairline fracture was almost healed but inflamed by that tendonitis stuff, all that music playing and board breaking. But the plastic cast can come off to play on Monday for music.(he'll never know) Just no board breaking for awhile.

These medical people must tattle to each other, just like us teachers do!

But my students sympathized with me, they know how I get those injuries! :wah:

Sending hugs for a speedy recovery :-4:-4

I went to my Doctor once because i had wrenched my arm. he asked if if it hurt if i raised my arm in the air and i said 'yes it does'. He said 'well, don't do it then'.

I swear that is true. The Doctor is is lovingly known in my town as 'Doctor death'. :(:(:(

I dont know, it could be a blessing. If you karate chop someone with your cast theyre going down. Thats what you want isnt it, to drop them like a sack of potatos and make them beg for mercy ?
