no jokes please about freezing me i know i'm a bit of a cabbage thank you :D yes you can........ just shred it first and put it in a freezer bag and it freezes well. When you de-frost it, put it in a bowl of ice cold water to freshen it up. :D

I'd suggest putting the leftover cabbage in one of those Green Bags you see advertised on TV.

I was pretty skeptical of them until my sister gave me some. She found them in a discount store for a fraction of what they cost if you order them through the TV advert.

They work very well.I put some whole strawberries in one, put it in the refrigerator, and promptly forgot about them for two weeks.

When I found them, they were as fresh as the day I got them. They tasted great. They should have been withered little things covered in grey mold after that long.

You can wash them and reuse them. The box says you can reuse them ten times.

Is toilet water safe to drink?

Not only safe, according to Answer Cur, a beagle mix rescued from a kill shelter in Virginia, but downright tasty. Nondogs, however, should look before they lap.

"It would depend upon the pipes used in the tank," says Philip M. Tierno Jr., the director of clinical microbiology and diagnostic immunology at New York University's Tisch Hospital. "There isn't much metal used these days, so there ordinarily wouldn't be metals leaching out. The biggest problem would be biofilm -- mainly bacterial growth -- coating everything in the tank. But that tank water is probably drinkable in an emergency."

As for imbibing bowl water, don't be a schmuck. "Studies have shown," Tierno notes, "that if salmonella or other pathogens are deposited there from feces, they have the ability to survive in the biofilm despite ordinary cleaning."

And if you're the type of numskull who's hell-bent on living dangerously you should at least flush first.

You'll get pretty pissed up if you drink it, I can tell you - and you'll reek of the stuff for a day afterwards! It's mostly alcohol. Don't spill it in your crevices!

I avoid sandy beaches after getting sand in my crevices. The chaffing was unbearable. :(

Darn, Jimbo................and to think I almost missed this thread. ;)

1. No question from you is ever stupid.

2. Do try those "green bags" mentioned on an earlier post for your fresh fruits and vegetables..........especially cabbage.

3. Don't stock up on cabbage. Just buy what you will eat for the week, store it in those green bags in the fridge.

I like cabbage too. :)

This link below goes to an example of those "green bags";

I froze a whole Lib Dem once.

I de-frosted it 5 years later and it still came out talking bollocks.
