Mars bars shrink in size - Telegraph

Reduced from 62.5g to 58g; prices have remained the same. Change not announced.

"Mars UK's sister operator in Australia is shrinking the size of 90 products while keeping prices the same.

The change there has been handled very differently by being presented in a major advertising campaign as a public health measure. "

Humph.Oh,Bill,I heard about this a few days ago,and this very morning,I listened to a rep on the radio selling the idea that they are trying to present a more healthier, smaller size.

Of course,no answer for the price staying the same.

They must think we're all soft in the head if we believe that load of garbage.

It's not just candy bars--------there has been a continual reduction in the size of packaging for many products with a slight increase in cost per item. Spaghetti sauce for example.

There are some excellent sauces that come in a jar. Ragu isn't one of them. You get what you pay for. Time is money, and making home sauce, though good, takes time.

Takes me about 20 min to prep...very easy recipe. I do however buy the meatballs from a butcher.

Cracker Barrell makes a decent sharp cheddar.

In the world of cheeses I imagine Cracker Barrell might be low cheese on the totem pole but it makes me happy.

Tasmanian Mersey Valley Vintage Cheddar..... pant pant pant

King Island does a neat drop too.

And I've even sampled some not too bad New Zealand cheddars.

I'm a big fan of a good fresh slab of English Red Leicester too.

And then there's Stilton.... ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

They have the extra large candy bars now but they come in two pieces so youre not getting one continuous bar. You get cheated because that extra space between the bars in the packaging is is void of substance. You have two ends butting up to each other but theyre not flush. Its very upsetting when you realize the scope of deceit.

Not at all, Nomad. Cracker Barrel is totally edible - but not as extreme as some vintage cheddars. And the texture is not as interesting as the Mersey Valley cheddah. I like the American cheese too that's kind of partly orange and partly creamy coloured - ? Cracker jack? Mildish, but I could murder a chunk right now.

I thought so. Lets call it the upper echelon of grocery store cheddar.

Ive never delved into the extreme cheeses. They seem a little scary.

My father loved Cracker Barrell but Mr O loves a good blue cheese. I prefer the french cheeses. There nothing like a runny Brie or Camembert.

The incredible shrinking ice cream :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl That's why I go to the cheap little grocery stores for cereal, etc. I'm not paying $5 for Cheerios when I can get the same box for $1.59 with the same amount of cereal. You need to learn how to budget the buck & get the same food for less amounts of money.

It must, I guess - or else how to explain all the emails that still slip through my spam guard all promising to enhance my under-endowment with extra inches in length and girth.

(I found out a few years back what can cause that extra girth and kept me knees crossed thereafter)

but I digress..... :sneaky:

Oh dear, that is such a turn-on. Not!!!

Her Pamness doesn't care much for censorship in any form, and finds little rows of asterisks irritating. Penis is apparently okay though, somehow. I could be anal retentive and suggest that the plural is actually penises - but am feeling amiable right now - having just eaten a fine lunch of cheddah cheese and shallots on toast - so will let it go.
