Its quite alarming to think that not so very long ago heroin and cocaine were contained in over the counter remedies. Even for babies

In the 1970's my dad was prospecting for gold near an old ghost town in the mountains in Idaho. He found an area where Chinese miners had their shacks. The shacks were pretty much gone but remains of walls were still visible. hid in one wall he found a metal container. On opening the lid he found it to contain an opium pipe and black lump of opium.

In another wall he found a single shot .22 pistol still in usable condition.
