They have free concerts in Santa Cruz on weekends. This week it's some of Santana's group (maybe only 1). It should be good .

Sounds cool and anything Santana even if its only his personal valet is a good thing.

I do take exception to their ad about dirty little Japanese people though. Thats a little harsh.

Two tour buses arrive during our visit. One delivers bored, Latino teens along with their teacher-guide. The other disgorges dirty little Japanese tourists fresh from the Winchester Mystery House. Pat steps aside as the Japanese guide leads his pack up the hill to various Stations of Discombobulation.

You're right! I didn't see that part. I will write them a letter and tell them I'm going to boycott them.

Ever had the privelage of seeing Santana ?

I saw him once and I was in awe. Chills and goosebumps.

His guitar and his inner spirit are as one.

What a cool way of saying that! Perfect! Yes, I saw him perform once. My daughter ran into him in a super market in San Rafael. Well, not literally. I think he has a place close by her. It'll be a band member that we'll be seeing, not Carlos, but it should be good.

I used to spend a lot of time in Las Vegas (I have a home close by) and there's a saxophone player (David van Such) who's fantastic! Sometimes he has a guitarist with him who sounds amazingly like Santana.

Mystery Spot is really cool!! I've never seen anything like it. If you're close to Santa Cruz go see it. It's well worth the $6 entrance-$5 parking fee. I bought a book that has other weird places in California and I was surprised to see how many I've visited and actually have friends in a couple of them.

If I ever visit California Ill feel compelled to drive through East LA to examine it for myself. Im interested in people and places very different from my own bubble.

Nomie, you just come on to California and I'll take you there. But, don't go to East L.A., 'cause it's not there (although they do have a lot of unusual sights there and you might find a mysterious spot or two) Actually this is south and west of San Jose. Santa Cruz has a great beach and boardwalk. I have 3 bumper stickers and I'll sell ya one. :yh_rotfl
