I have managed to avoid the irate Arthur all day and the equally irate wife of Arthur. I waited until they went off to play crown bowls before leaving the house.

A quiet day in the lane today except for the excitement of a letter arriving for yours truely from The House of Commons. I assumed it was a begging letter from Gordon Lovliness Brown but no..... it was from my idiot local MP who's name has shown up on a web site listing funders and supporters of the UAF. He's basically challenged me to a bitchslap. Oh........ bring it on :wah:
Mr O and i squabbled pettilly last night over the amount of food i'm giving the foxes. He decided to come out with to feed them and was blown away by the little cubs who were kissing mum and dad and scumpering around the field to their hearts delight. The old softie went out and bought two packs of fresh chicken for them this morning. I won, I won :yh_rotfl

A fairly tedious day by sorts in the lane. Little 6 yr Myra came knocking on the door to proudly show me the medal she had won at sports in golf.
I broke the agreement Mr O forced me to sign promising not to slope off over the weekend. The take-away was very quiet tonight so i sloped off and left him there. Last night we had the anti-social-behaviour squad out in force after a mob of approx 30 unsavoury young hooded youths descended upon the shop. I was actually extremely pleased to see many of the officers were 'Specials' and they tell us that our police force has stepped up the Special unit to tackle the growing ASB in the area.
The war memorial is recieving a lot of attention in that since my 'little incident', it has never looked so lovely. The RBL have planted it up beautifully and i'm looking forward to Forces Day when the band of The Royal marines are coming to town.
Good job i sloped off tonight. I got a frantic call from poor Omar who lives round the corner saying 'come quick.... much blood'. I got round there to find his hand virtually hanging off. Silly boy had an accident with an electric tile cutter. I got him to A&E after shouting at him not to bleed over my new car. The waiting time in casualty was 3 hours. I left him with a nurse and will go and pick him up when he's ready.
Tomorrow is 'swim clearing' day. For anyone not familiar with the delights of swim clearing...... this is due to the start of the carp fishing season and involves standing waste deep in lakes clearing smelly vile weed. It's also hazardous due to discard fish hooks. I do love pruning the bushes..... i find that very thereputic. It's very benificial to wildfowl as baby ducks etc get caught on old line and hooks.
Must go, there is an orderly queue of foxes outside the door waiting for their food.

I had a smoking hotel room when i went on TV so there are some about. It's a nightmare though isn't it if you get a non-smoking one? You have a fantastic time and i'll look forward to your return. Yes, I got your number :sneaky: Safe jounerys to you :-4
I've been 'swim clearing' to day and i stunk of smelly weed. The discarded hook and line left by anglers in swims and river banks is tracherous to wildfowl and even if kids are playing in the area. It amazes me that folk allow their dogs to swim in man made carp lake with all those discarded hooks in there but they do. Some of the more exclusive fishing clubs insist you do several sessions of voluntary swim clearing to get your licence to fish there.
We had an unexpected bonus yesterday. Mr O was clearing a cabinet and throwing away old letters etc and he found an envelope with £300 in it. Neither of us can remember putting it there or what we put it there for.
Omar is all stiched up with his arm in a sling after last nights accident with an electic tile cutter. In the end he was seen very quickly at Causualty but has to go back to check he hasn't damaged nerves and tendons. Mr O went and got him last night. He won't be slicing Kebabs for a very long time.

How time flies.
Saturday is 'lads and baby' day at the prison again and baby will be coming up to see his father. It's the only visit that my nephews girl gets entirely alone with him as prison rules mean that while she's under 18 yrs old, she has to have a chaperone with her on visits. The prison warders still watch them like hawks and there are camera's monitering everything. In the visiting area there is also a small creche for the older babie's and prison wardens photograph the baby with their dad so they can put the pic on their cell wall. It also reminds them how their baby is growing in monthly stages. It's astonishing to see so many of these young lads in maximum security prisons with young babies. My nephew certainly is not unique in that sense. I'm lucky in an ironic way that he is being held in custody a short distance from my home. I feel so much for the young babies and children who have to travel the length of the country to see their dad's. His girlfriend has just moved into a new flat. I will be going down next wednesday to spend some time with her and i want to take her shopping as she has so little for the flat and herself. Straight after that i will go down to West Sussex which in my heart is my home and spend time with my brother and the horsey world. My brothers little boy Henry has just got a new pony that i'm going to try to ride.

What a bloody awful night !!!!
The problem with drunken youths and anti-social behaviour has become a real problem in the village. The past two weekends that i have been looking after the take-away, we have had to have the police out to drunken yobs. There is no other word to describe their behaviour as yobbish.
Last night, i started around 10 pm when a large group of around 30 youths gathered in the field outside my house. The noise was dreadfull and the swearing down right disgusting. Sure enough, as expected it got more and more rowdy and my phone started ringing from concerned elderly neighbours. We have our own little neighbourhood watch here called 'scroat alert'. Many of my elderly neighbours fear calling the police for reprisals. Our lovely little lane and close has seen so much anti-social behaviour and criminal damage of late. A neighbour had a rock put through his windscreen only very recently. The lane is a private road so has no street lighting and with a field outside my house, it provides a good getaway for the one's who deal drugs when the police arrive.
We have to remember that not all kids are bad and it's very easy to label them as yobs with the rest so we left them to get on with it for a while. Then we heard shouting from the school grounds and realised they had scaled the fence. No other option but to call the police. They got there within about 20 minutes in a van but of course, the moment they saw the van, they got back over the fence. Four police officers went into the field in the pitch darkness and all we could see was droves of them coming out of the trees and bushes. The officers came back to us and told us they had tipped several litres of alcohol away and moved them on. 10 minutes after they watched the police drive off, they just flooded back in the field. We didn't do anything immediately but after another hour, more were joining the group and it was getting very rowdy. Then two lads turned up with a sofa !!! Yes, a sofa at 01 in the morning. Mr O went out there at this point and seeing him they ran off.
To cut a very long story short, we ended up phoning the police 4 times asking where the bloody hell was the car they promised they were sending. We were told by control that it was 'Prom night' and police were fully stretches dealing with crowds of drunken kids rampaging around the area. After this had gone on for 3 hours, i lost it and phoned the police back telling them to forget and i would go out there and deal with them myself. I slammed the phone down on the operator and guess what? The cars were there within 5 minutes.
Most of them ran off the moment they saw the police and i think 'why run off from the police if your having an innocent get together'?
They rounded up the rest and brought them into the lane outside my house as we had the floodlights on so they could see what they were doing. The attitude of these kids to the police was absolutely astonishing. Out came the pads for names and addresses and they just refused to answer them. One officer said to these girls 'Hello, i'm talking to you, answer me' and they just said 'no'.
By the time police had finally got rid of everyone of them it was 4 in the morning.
I was so worried about my foxes and i thought that there was no way they would cross the field after that to my garden. I thought I'd have a look anyway around 4.30 am and sure enough there was my pack leader and his vixen waiting for me.
Early this morning, Mr O went into the field with our elderly neighbour Arthur who i'm still avoiding after my foxes dug his garden up :wah: and the mess !!!!! Broken bottles, take-away wrappers and even a used condon ffs. Several wing mirrors were found smashed this morning also by residents in the close.
One thing that did make me laugh was the 3 cats asleep on the sofa in the field :wah:

Odie, it is purely down to the attitude of British kids. If they want a prom night..... fine..... but to keep a whole area awake until 4 in the morning is out of order. Then, to smash people's cars as they are leaving and break bottles in a field that is used by all the dog walkers, that's sheer attitude.
Surely they don't behave like this in the States or Canada?

Prom nights here are usually booked at hotels for the party, the kids book the motel for overnight.....then they all get way out of hand and the hotel kicks them out.
Some schools do still have the party at the school and god knows where and what they do afterwards.
but yours is really unbelievable what they did and cops never arrested them?
...if this had of happened here..they all would have been in the jail with charges.
now who is going to clean up that mess in your field?
This is when you and all your neighbors call your local politician.

This is when you and all your neighbors call your local politician. I do have a lot of contact with my local police so i am phoning the Inspector monday morning. We have had enough.
Mr O and my elderly neighbour cleaned the field up this morning before the dog walkers got in there.
It's no good contacting my local politician. Him and i have a hate, hate relationship. He's one of Gordon Browns lot :wah: I have been to him before over vandalism to our war memorial and he did nothing. I have some Tory Councillors that will get involved so i will get onto them as well.
Tonight has been very quiet down here. I've just been out to the foxes. They are still quite nervy after last night.
We are going to watch a tribute channel to MJ for a few hours now and then off to bed. I just saw the 'Bad' video. WOW....... he was sooooooo cool :-4
Night night Odie, catch yer tomorrow.

The highlight of my day today had to be the phone call from OPEN MIND. He has a very sexy voice !!! It was great chatting to him and he has my home phone number and is calling tomorrow night. I look forward to it.
Very very hot in bristol today and in the take-away tonight, it was quite unbearable. Why is it Turkish tea is so much more refreshing than British blends?
Got home tonight and Pete's key would not go in the lock and we were locked out. To cut a long story short, i got up to all sorts of shanaghans to get to a top open window to climb in. Once in he found he had put his key in the lock upside down.
I have some lovely pork ribs in the oven i am roasting with a plum sauce and i'm off to do some noodles to go with them.
Then i'm going to kill Pete.
Puppy Rosie is continuing with her desire to find every snail in the garden and bring it in the house as gifts for us. NICE.

We had a phone call from the police today re: the drunken mob in the field outside our house the other night. The police are appealling for witnessess because apparently, 5 teenagers were seriously assaulted that night all requiring hospital treatment. Plod has found from the records that one description of a youth i gave to control exactly matches that of a youth they want to question re: the attacks. Well, had they responded a little quicker, they could have had him.
The Oscar's are off tonight for our reward for looking after the take-away weekends. Our Turkish friend and his wife are taking us to a very exclusive Italian resturant in Stroud, Gloucestershire. Can't wait.
I also had a letter from Nick Griffin in the post this morning... mmmmm interesting reading. !!!
If i get time today, i must reply to my local MP's letter challenging me to a bitchslap at one of his public meetings over his support of the UAF.

It was awesome.
We had starters of all different kinds of bread, olives, salad with dipping bowls of virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Pete and Murmat had Sea Bass for main. I had pasta with Lobster and king prawns which was drenched in virgin oil and parmasan cheese. :-4
Dessert was vanilla cheescake with berries.
Lots of wine and expresso coffee.

that was indeed a special treat! It was a beautiful beautiful setting. This is a link showing the resturant.

It's in the middle of the countryside and is a 16th century renovated mill. We sat outside by the water and ate ( so we could smoke :sneaky: )and Pete was thrilled as there were trout and carp in the water. It was a hot summer evening with a nice breeze as well. There were ducks on the water and it was just awesome.

What? Baby doll...we went to a restaurant in Donegal to die for...the bar was about the normal size of a minivan:wah: I think there were 8 seats:wah:...the food was listed on a blackboard...everything from prawns to steak...you already know what I had from previous posts...steak with that effing fantastic garlic sauce.

and tbe irish music...to die for. Even wierder...didn't watch alot of tv over there...we embraced the cd..music that we fell in love with...I had no idea that the Verve's cd was that great until i had to listen to it for a full 10 hours:yh_rotfl..yeah, now it does remind me of Ireland.:yh_rotfl
O you & Mr. O would have loved the last house we rented...old world charm meets the real world..the hot tub..omg, couldn't get Quin out of the thing:yh_rotfl he lived in in. He looked and came to resemble a frog.:yh_rotfl. Many a night I was out there with him and listening to FOXES. Yup, we heard them alright..they make such a weird noise and they are totally night creatures. Cool babes. There was a mallard duck on that water last night that came over and virtually sat in Pete's lap and i thought of you :yh_rotfl
The foxes do indeed make a weird bark like noise. Worse in the rutting season when a vixen comes into heat. You should have rounded them all up and brought them back here for me :wah:

Wouldn't that be awesome?:guitarist:guitarist What struck me about the place was the quiet. It's in an area of Britain called 'The Cotswolds' and just stunning buildings like the one in the link. The resturant is on the edge of The River Frome where Pete fishes parts of it nearer to our home.
I have to go there again........ it was just lovely. :-4:-4

I live on the very outskirts of Bristol in South Gloucestershire and am really lucky that these places are a short drive away. We are not that far from The Mendips also. I suppose that's what i like..... one moment your in a bustling city, the next your in the quiet of the Cotswolds.
I'm going fishing with Mr O for two days starting tomorrow. One day it's an exclusive lake in Bath. Again, the thing that strikes you about the place is the quiet. That has the most astonishing scenery so i will get some pics. :-6

I shall take the dogs off into the surrounding countryside to pick some wild flowers. Last time i was there, i stumbled across a small deer stuck in barbed wire. It was squealing so Oscar went to the rescue and got kicked in the stomach for my efforts.

I would have brought my fishing rod along!:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl The water was so clear that you could see the fish easily. There were enormous Barbel and Chub in there.
I have to go again.
Pete has been out today buying new baskets and bedding for the dogs. They get so stinky after a while however much you wash them and puppy pulled all the stuffing out of hers a few days ago.
I'm having a very lazy day today. It's too hot to move.

After last nights worry, what a lovely day i have had with Mr O.
We drove out to a little place called 'Limply Stoke' just outside Bath and baited a swim on the River Avon ready for him to go fishing for Barbel tomorrow. Wow, it was just way too hot. They estimated 30 degrees where we were.
Then we went to the cafe on the canal and paid £5.50 for two cups of tea and one piece of cake !!!! The tourists must be here
Then on to another fishing beauty spot called 'Claverton' just outside Bath that was heaving in anglers. He decided to bait a swim further up the bank which involved walking through four cow fields, under the railway line and back up the bank. I am exhausted.

Beautiful scenery though and a lovely day with my husband.
