Hang on, i haven't finished posting the threads yet :sneaky::sneaky:
Considering he was bald under the wig, emancipated under the baggy clothes, scarred under the make up etc..... i think he looked quite good. Then, i look better with a wig and a bit of slap myself.

not healthy one bit. Looks like it could have been a fab show though. Shame. At least he tried to rehearse.

Yeah, I was pleased you posted them. I was just about to post that I have found a bit of closure on this by seeing that photo at the top. As you say, the autopsy report and other comments led me to think of this talented, sweet boy that was part of my life years ago as a shambolic scarecrow and , as you observe, labelled by the reports as not being up to his rehearsals, so full of drugs. Actually, if he was a regular user I suppose his body could tolerate way more than you or I. Think its a lovely picture and sooo near to his death.
The other picture that helped me, and I apologise if to some this is ghoulish, was taken of his face as they took him on the stretcher to the ambulance. To me, who expected to see his face ashen and crumbling, he looked so ALIVE and his skin looked good. I KNOW that was rubber-necking, but after seeing those two pics last night I went to bed a lot lighter.
I was jmpressed with his memorial site at the Dome. They had a large electronic display showing a familiar dance pose with his birth date and date of decease and a security guard stood a metre or so away, which cramped my style, but was nice to see they did SOMETHING. There were only 6 people there when I showed up. I sat for a bit trying to collect my thoughts but people were talking and a child was tripping over things so I left after a few minutes.
I am pretty much M.J. maxed out. I may limit my intake.

I think folk are coming pretty maxed out to MJ but i do believe the coverage will be bigger than even Diana when she died. That's hard for some folk to understand but he inspired so many people world wide. I miss him already.

Argh, have to watch myself aaaall the time. :wah:
Apparently something like 780 people have written/rung in to the BBC ( think it was) to complain that there was too much repeating of the news about him.
One thing I noticed about the taking to the ambulance picture was that Michael's face was a little brown.
As we all have, I've had such a jumble of thoughts, emotions about him. Where I'm at now is - maybe if he hadn't been so pushed to be a singer he wouldn't have had a great life anyhow. And much is said about how " Wacko" he was, but he didn't come out of the womb like that - some of it was his upbringing, but who knows what upbringing his Dad had? My hub. started a high school band and they were doing well for a year but pressure of perfoming fractured their relationships and they split. The little bit of fame they got destroyed the band. So I think the biz Michael was in might have been bad for the nerves and sanity. In one interview he tried to get it out about the pressures but the interviewer quickly cut him off with " But you're not COMPLAINING are you?" * I * thought, well give the guy a chance to tell it how he sees it. There ARE top stars that haven't gone down the same route of course - Val Doonican, Barry Manilow, David Cassidy - apologies if there's been scandal about them I haven't read! Plus the crazy scrutiny - I'm talking about before the court cases. I looked at some of his interviews, some I think from BEFORE the allegations and some of the Interviewers were really annoying, REALLY annoying- appreciate he WAS an unusual Superstar so that even Oprah seemed not herself around him, but eugh! I don't think he was necessarily truthful at times and I am left with a worried feeling about the " boys" he hung out with. It IS difficult to just enjoy the music without the connection to that side of things Completly understand how nice it IS to have kids around and that he was looking to help some of the kids too. I wonder how much praising him offends those who feel angry for the children. I know he was aquitted.
Went back to the appreciation site at the Dome on my way home from work late last night and it had been moved to beside the entrance - it's grown a bit. It bothers me the little tea light candles are not lit - s'pose they blow out within minutes
