Feeling A Little Blue...

Post by Fyrenza »

i got banned from a favorite site,

PERMANENTLY,

with no other explaination than "Sorry. I'm tired of you." from the web master / owner of the site.

i think it's because i believe in truly Free Speech, and that if folks don't like what someone else says, they can put them on Ignore and/or avoid that particular topic. As long as it isn't something that is illegal to do online (i.e. posting child pornography), i don't see a problem. i'll avoid the subjects i find offensive, as well as the members i find so.

But the bottom line is that i'm sure going to miss those folks... :-1

I don't believe in permanent bans........you make alot of friends, you have been on that forum for ages, and contributing....

...and bang, your gone...........just because discussions get heated.

.... time away for a while is fine......just to cool off.

and you should be able to speak your mind.

I'm really happy you came here, your a welcome addition.:-4

Join the club. I been banned permanently from one too. A local board I'm on banned me several times. On that one, I had lots of friends. They went to bat for me and contacted the administrators. The ban was lifted. Probably won't work on the bigger boards though. It's not the end of the world.

Yeah, the dude's a little arrogant...

And nothing got heated around me ~

we were discussing a new Sticky re: the fact that any emails, PM's, or Messenger complaints would be IGNORED by the entire "establishment,"

and i stated my opinion regarding Free Speech.

Whatever.

And THIS would have been my fav site, but i got here later, and made friends in the other one, getting to know the folks, and truly enjoying the conversations.

i knew who the members were that were likely to post offensive replies,

and if they hadn't been so damned HILARIOUS, i might have just put those folks on Ignore.

i'm not "into" posting all about sex on the internet, so i avoid the sex forums, for the most part.

Now i'm back to playing catch-up, doing lots of reading, (AND laughing :yh_rotfl)

getting to know y'all.

Paying subscribers don't get banned here for stating (semi-)reasonable opinions, do they?

And y'all DO believe in Free Speech, right?

(Just checking... :( )

Yeah, it does let one know that anything one could say and/or do would just be pointless... :-5

Ah, well, that would appear to be life on the internetz.

Sorry Fyrenza, I know that has to hurt. :-1 Looks like their loss is our gain. Bet they'll miss you. Bring your friends over here, then you can keep right on discussing.:)

If you irritate people persistently, and are thought of as a trouble-maker, you'll get banned, simple as that. There are social issues with some plain speaking. I do not say that you are of this ilk, of course. One man's "free speech" is another's abuse. Shrug it off. They've done what they want - you've got somewhere else.

Exactly!

i was looking for a good forum when i found that site,

eh?

Yeah, it does hurt, but there really isn't anything i can do, other than to let folks know where i've gone, and hope they'll follow.

i just wish everyone would stick with their same name, and avvy! :yh_rotfl

i'll go back to my "usual" avvy ~ a red-eyed bunny, smoking, with a feeder leaf cap! In fact, brb...

Meh, a life bannishement is overrated.

:yh_rotfl

Gosh I have to wonder how many FG members have been banned for life from other forums.

Aw really it is a bummer to get a life time ban. Glad you made it back here.

Cheers
