hmmmmmmm just another blow to mans ego.

I hope you don't get wrapped up in that Nomad. I always believe if "You" are happy with "You" then your are man or woman enough.

We are who we are, and our happiness will always grow if we accept that.

Yes but becoming a man is a series of mistakes, bad judgement, foibles and ultimately recognizing character faults so that we can evolve into something better than we once were.

true enough, so you say by comparing ones self to others is our life measuring stick. I suppose so to some degree. I guess it is human nature to always improve. I just think it should not be that way for everything in ones life. ie.... bigger boobs (women only) why????? Just so you can look better. Pfffft pole some men and see how they feel. I know many who say bigger isn't better.

Just a snippet of thought there.

The author is saying it but it has a resonance of truth. Its one of the traps of being a conditioned man. Finding a way to release ourselves from those things instilled in us is the key to becoming a truly free thinker.

A fine line mind you right? Ie...Ah if I only had the power over my co worker to change this job. versus if only I had the power over my co worker to ruin his life.

Yet in both cases in your own mind you believe this makes you better and righ.

Nomie, the same applies to being a woman...but I think most women, at least myself, still likes a mans man. Trying to improve one's self is a goal for both sexes, but don't get into the trap of changing yourself to fit the worlds warped vision of what a man should be. IMHO.

You could also say becoming an adult is a series.......etc."

To me it's not so much about manliness, but being human.

As a high school teacher I'm finding that manhood is slow in coming without another man to show the boy the way.
