Not so much a love/hate relationship as hate/hate. You realise historians will be looking at the last three decades a hundred years from now and wonder why we let such plonkers away with it. You can just see the exam questions can't you? New labour was an unmitigated disaster for the UK. Discuss.

Don't be a Rodney Auld Yin.
He's a back stabbing, treacherous slime ball. I never understood why GB took him back.
My idea is not to hike Uni fees, but to return the pass marks to sensible percentages.
Yeah, love the body language :wah:

Oscar We've had a cap put on how many doctors and nurses places in our Uni's .................Now we have a dire shortage of trained medical staff.
but one good thing has happened, Overseas students no longer get the assurance of staying in this country after studying..............this means they will think twice about taking up our Uni places YAY!!!! I may get a place yet:)

I won't go down the route of the question of Over-sea's students for fear of being misunderstood in a political way.
What i would like to see here, is the qualifying pass marks raised to a decent average. I believe the current pass rate is 40%.
In some cases we end up with people qualifying who should never had qualified. At the end they come out to a shortage of jobs and compition is so feirce that they could end up unemployed any way.

40%??????? that's bollocks!!! where'd the 70% 80% go?
that's a shocking mark. So in the old maths you can basically go to uni and qualify to fail as many uni degrees as you wish . WT?

Yes, stupid eh? I think the idea was to give all a chance to get to Uni but the pass rates got so low, i remember some-one's kid qualifying for business studies on a 36% pass rate, that it's just become a free for all. They just come out to unemployment because the higher achievers will always get the jobs.

Ahhh hang on Do you guys have government loans for Uni? Here we have the Hecs fees Basically you take a loan out to go to UNI then pay the government back after you get a job. but you only have to pay it back after a certain pay increase
