Can You Live Without The Internet Now?

Post by Lon »

For me it would be tough considering that the net has become my main means of communication with family and friends, my main means of receiving current news, my only means of banking and bill paying, my primary source of medical information, my primary resource for financial data and record keeping, my main means of researching topics of interest, my almost main means of watching new and older movies and videos.

It has also become a major source for new purchases.

I could give up TV, cells and land lines, but would sorely miss the net.

ALOHA!!

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

I could, but I would probably just waste a lot of time walking about outdoors, visiting with neighbors, hanging out in our public library just next door.

I suppose I could live without the internet, if I had too. But I would go through withdrawal and probably need a patch. :D

I'm with Betty about the research part, the net is very helpful. I could easily live without it if I had to, but it is fun to have!

Anyone could live without the Internet but it would make life difficult.

My nephew and his wife live in Spain, She gave birth to her baby on Friday,

within hours I was watching a downloaded video of him. :-4

I pay bills, chat on Skype, order goods, sell goods and can Google the answer to anything.

Was life really more difficult 20 yrs ago ?

Nah...Its the going back part and giving something up that would be difficult. People dont like change.

Say your house caught on fire, God forbid, youd find new ways to manage until your home and personal effects were replaced. Youd adjust and be creative and improvise. Who knows you might even like the simplicity.

Say a meteor crashed into Earth. Wed all be instantly transformed into hunters and gatherers again. Were more flexible than you think.

I could live without it if I had to. At the moment it's a must have for work. In a few weeks it will be a must for college.

It's the only way I can keep in contact with a lot of friends and family :D
Very nearly perfect ... :D

I expect I would be able to live without my PC if I had to for any reason, after all I managed without it before didn't I? But it would be difficult. I have found so much enjoyment, made a lot of friends, can find out so much information about so many different things. Like Lon, I use it for my banking and find that it does make life so much easier in that regard - and almost instantaneous! I keep in touch with my relatives and can send and receive pics, and I can enjoy music etc. from Youtube. It is also a boon with regard to using the telephone facility - I can talk to friends in Australia and it costs me NOTHING !!!! As a pensioner, that is soooooo good to be able to do !!! :D
I'm a Saga-lout, growing old disgracefully

No, I cannot even fathom living without the net because it brings me so much pleasure. I use my computer for work and fun.

The whole world is at my fingertips in a nanosecond:-6
