Joseph, there's no pressure. Come and go as you please, post as you please. There will be times when you'll want to give your two pen'orth and times you will just want to read what someone else has posted.

And welcome by the way

Have you got an intro thread, Joseph? I looked up your profile and there's not a lot there. Where are you from? And what do you like to do? Tell us a bit about yourself -

I'm Pam, I'm an Aussie and live in Sydney. Like to swim and ski and read and travel.

There's some great people in FG and Kathy, Snowfire and Ducky are three of them. :sneaky: Welcome, and enjoy your stay!!

It could be because you want to explore people in a wider perspective or simply that you want to widen your social horizon. Only you can really identify that feeling once you've thrown yourself into the Great Forum Debate.

I think it's great that I can chat with someone on the opposite side of the planet, share their news, stories and thoughts. Compare lifestyles, opinions, and so on.

Exactly where is the opposite side of the planet anyway? I think for us in the UK it's in the depths of some ocean somewhere.:D

Joe we are kind of like the local pub, you just drop in when you feel like it and chat with whomever is in the pub, or in our case the garden. We are a pretty friendly lot, and we talk about most anything. If current affairs float your boat you will love Oscar and Spot, if you want to hear of great travel, you will love aussie Pam, Kathy E, or Mikeinie. For giggles well there is Nomad, Jimbo, El Taco.

Just to name a few, and by no means have I pigeon holed these members they are just some examples of the vast array of fruits and nuts in FG.

Relax, look around, and mingle if you want to. Forum Garden is the place to share a little bit of yourself with us. We have fun, learn a little, and even give comfort and support.

Escapism? Maybe, at times. ;)

Being pigeon holed is probably preferable to being pigeon toed.

But fergit the travel connection - I know that when ForumGardeners look for style, wit, wisdom, beauty, and all round wondrousness - they sit at the elegantly red-koala-feather booted (18 inch stiletto heeled) feet of Goddess AussiePam. :sneaky:

We here like to refer to it as nomadism...:-6
I expressly forbid the use of any of my posts anywhere outside of FG (with the exception of the incredibly witty 'get a room already' )posted recently.

Folks who'd like to copy my intellectual work should expect to pay me for it.:-6

or the occasional trip to the "padded room" :p

It is a community here indeed Joe, and some of us have had the pleasure of meeting up with others in real life, and some grand friendships live on.

Just enjoy, and if anyone starts to poke at you with a stick, just hide behind Nomad. :D

The other day upon the stair

I met a man who wasn't there

He wasn't there again today

I wish that man would go away

Perhaps, Oscar - if Spot doesn't exist, we'd have to invent him.

One was so small it was no [unmentionable round object] at all

The other so huge it won prizes

:wah: There was an old man from Ealing,

Who had the most peculiar feeling,

He laid on his back,

And the rest will get me banned.
