this is all just a new experience for me, people on here know each other very well and some of you have met each other in person, it's easy to feel that because it's on the computer that it's not real life but in actual fact it is very real :)

I think it's quite easy to control the discussions - however, one question might be "Is it right to do so?". In some cases I'm sure it is - however, as you say, it's easy to make assumptions - and these can be wrong ones.

Hi there Joseph.

You're right, there have been some strong opinions recently but thats because we've had some newbies coming in with an agenda, stirring the pot and sending hate mail. Not nice.

And without seeming too "policeish" about things (I don't want to yell 'Freeze' and pull a watergun on you :sneaky: ) but would you mind showing us a bit of ID? As in telling us a bit about yourself, filling in some personal details in your settings boxes etc? Without wanting to harass a newbie I find a lot of your comments 'odd', for instance, you sound quite young but I don't know any young men who would start a thread entitled 'goodness gracious me'. The way you phrase things sounds more like the way a woman would talk imo and while I don't want to harass a newbie I also feel it would be unfair for LLB or ITK to reappear using a new identity when they should be sitting in the naughty corner with a dunces hat on their heads.

I'm sorry if you ARE the newbie you say you are, just call it my nasty suspicious nature :p, but if you could reassure us about who you are and if the mods could check your IP address against LLBs and ITKs, just to reassure us all. I just think those 2 started a lot of inflamatory threads, designed to rile people and incite anger and the start of this thread has a very similar 'feel' to it, especially with your style of writing and the embarrassed smilies you use. Hope you understand. :):sneaky::lips::wah:

Joining FG was a desperate act Joseph. Desperation calls for desperate measures.

Think of the others as aliens infiltrating your personal space and act accordingly.

Invent space weapons in your mind and incinerate them.

Lasers, ray guns, trap then in space bubbles. Whatever works. They must be destroyed.

Joseph;1232348 wrote: I'm very confused, you should judge people by their actions, perhaps it's best you take this issue to the people who run the board and let them be the judge, am I not allowed a little time to find my feet around here before I know what I should or shouldn't do?

This post is not very nice, I've read my posts and I cant see what I've done wrong, I've read the rules.

I can only apologise if my writing style is feminine but I am definitely a man and I promise not to use certain "smilies"...

As you said yourself in the OP, there has been a lot of controversy lately resulting in strong words and opinions. Some of the things you said struck me as odd and I just wanted to check up on them. This forum is very dear to me, as it is to a lot of people, and I didn't want a few people coming by and deliberately starting a forum war. I did wonder if those banned newbies had set up a new identity to use just in case they were banned from FG again. This isn't confusing, its protecting a site that I care about. An SSSI, if you like. Of course you are allowed to find your feet, just as I am allowed to query something I am unsure about. It's an open forum. We are both within our rights.

I'm sorry if you find my comments upsetting. I'm just being careful. I'm sorry but I do find your style of writing quite feminine. For instance, your comment: "This post is not very nice, I've read my posts and I cant see what I've done wrong, I've read the rules." this sounds more like a hurt lil girlie speaking than a grown man of 40. I have never met a man who spoke like that. I'm sorry if I offended you but as a newbie to this site you should understand how protective many of us are towards this site and accept that we are protective and that you are still new and that it will take us a while to get to know you. I hope you enjoy the garden, as we all do.
