What would your redblooded, gun-toting, all-American equivalent be, Hoppy?

My normal maidenly Aussie exclamation would probably be more like:

"Crikey!!" or "Stone the bloody crows!!!"

Crikey works. Where I live "Sh!t, man", or just a healthy "damn" is pretty common. We shoot those who say anything else. Got one just last night.

Another thing you can do Joseph is pretend theyre a bunch of caged animals. You can make them be anything you want.

A sloth or a hairless mole or you could make them circus freak animals.

Taunt them with food until they behave the way you want, train them, force them into submission.

Its all about the power Joseph.

Rapunzel;1232365 wrote: As you said yourself in the OP, there has been a lot of controversy lately resulting in strong words and opinions. Some of the things you said struck me as odd and I just wanted to check up on them. This forum is very dear to me, as it is to a lot of people, and I didn't want a few people coming by and deliberately starting a forum war. I did wonder if those banned newbies had set up a new identity to use just in case they were banned from FG again. This isn't confusing, its protecting a site that I care about. An SSSI, if you like. Of course you are allowed to find your feet, just as I am allowed to query something I am unsure about. It's an open forum. We are both within our rights.

I'm sorry if you find my comments upsetting. I'm just being careful. I'm sorry but I do find your style of writing quite feminine. For instance, your comment: "This post is not very nice, I've read my posts and I cant see what I've done wrong, I've read the rules." this sounds more like a hurt lil girlie speaking than a grown man of 40. I have never met a man who spoke like that. I'm sorry if I offended you but as a newbie to this site you should understand how protective many of us are towards this site and accept that we are protective and that you are still new and that it will take us a while to get to know you. I hope you enjoy the garden, as we all do.

Hi Rap,

Us mods dont just sit around polishing our badges yanno:p

Every new member is checked, dont u worry about that! TS is very strict on multiple accounts and we work very hard to maintain it doesnt happen:-6

We dont know any new people when they join here and we have to spend time getting to know one another and I remember how hurt I felt when I first joined and was accused of being Pinky in disguise..I nearly said sod you but I didn't thankfully...Let's leave the newcomers to settle in and not be so judgemental please...:)

Hiya Chezzie,

I haven't seen you around for a long time. I wondered where you were and hoped everything was ok in your world. It's good to see you back. :-6

I try not to be judgemental, although we all are to a certain extent, but several times when LLB started threads I could see that she was pot stirring and trying to stir up trouble. Once or twice I mentioned it . . . and then I didn't. I thought perhaps she really DID want to join in and so left her to it. Some of her threads folks replied to nicely. They didn't see any hidden menace in her words and so responded normally to her. But some of her threads DID create anger and strife, which obviously pleased both her and ITK, as that was so obviously aiming for.

Her latest thread, about watching what you post on forums, was so obviously designed to cause trouble that its sheer audacity took my breath away! I so very nearly made a comment about it but as I still have an infraction from the last time I made an unexceptional comment :p I decided to leave it to the G..er..Mods to sort out. :D Apparently none of you did, which is why we now have no Oscar and no Peter as well as no teaspoons to stir the forum! (And thats polite.) :D

So I'll see your smack on the wrist for being judgemental, with your allowing dumb threads to stand, and I'll raise you a smack on the wrist by saying that I actually have 4 accounts on FG, including Rapunzel! Ha! So now you can go running madly through your files to try and track them down and delete them and I'll just sit here and twiddle my thumbs. :D

I'll also tell you that there is no nefarious reason for them. Years ago I forgot my password so set up a new name and password. Then I didn't come here for ages and when I did I'd forgotten that name and password so set up another new one. I didn't really like that one and asked for my name to be reset to Rapunzel, and about a year later it finally was!

So now y'all can stop polishin' the badges that ya pretend not to polish, take ya feet off the table, swig down the last of ya tea and pack the biccies away.

You're quite welcome to delete the other names but ya better not delete Rapunzel or I will NOT be a happy bunny! I can't remember what they are now, but that just adds to the fun, doesn't it?

Happy hunting! :wah::wah::wah:

An ex Premier of the Aussie State of Queensland - the one where there might actually be one or two guntotin survivalists lurking about in the bush - used to explete thusly. But Goodness Gracious Me may have been a very appropriate response to the Qld First Lady's pumpkin scones.

A bloke came round and cleaned my windows yesterday. Sydney Harbour looks lots clearer without the salt spray layer. Golly gosh it does.

Imladris said Blimey.. that's pretty good.

Where is Pinky now? She was a lot of fun .... and came from Felixstowe .. happy memories of bracing January Saturday morning walks along the promenade.

So "he" protested very loudly; declared his innocence; assured us he was here to stay blah blah blah . . . and now, all of a sudden, on the very same day he was questioned as being an imposter . . . he has packed up sticks and run away!

NOTHING was said to scare him off! So, to me, that smacks VERY LOUDLY of him being an imposter who is scared of being checked out and found out! I think I was right to question him, don't you? :sneaky::D:D

The alternative view is that you chased the chap off the site. Really, Rapunzel, just leave things like this be and let the moderators get on with their job, they have a far more informed view than you do and there's not the least reason to think he was anything other than what he claimed. As an impartial observer you leave a lot to be desired, the bees in your bonnet are far too audible.

FG's never benefited from pressure groups. Oscar and LLB are a problem that can be sorted much more easily if you didn't stir the site up so frequently about it.

So are you Joseph now come back as Ian?

Or are you Ian who was six?

Or were you six then Ian then Joseph then Ian?

How many accounts are we allowed to have?

If you were Joseph and are now Ian then I find it odd that in over 4 years of having not a single infraction, I now have TWO!

And both given for posts with nothing exceptional in them!

One from ITK and one from Joseph (the newbie who's just finding his feet!)

He obviously knows how to manipulate a forum!

I find that a huge coincidence!

No apology off me Rap, your well out of order in my opinion.

judg·men·tal (jj-mntl)

adj.

1. Of, relating to, or dependent on judgment: a judgmental error.

2. Inclined to make judgments, especially moral or personal ones

Nobody here needs to fit in with anyone, EVERYONE is treated the same. We haven't bothered about your other accounts because they have been inactive for over 4 and 5 years but are flagged to get deleted if they were to be used...

I dont know why the sudden change here but if thats how you want to play it fine...

Oh and Joseph's account was deleted for whatever reason and so he is entitled to open another in whatever name he chooses, like you did with your other accounts, totally different ball game when an account has been banned.

Please infract me immediately, Kathy !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A hug and a barbie at the beach sounds just perfect. And I promise to do my special rendition of 'Maids when you're Young' !!!

I'm rostered on this Saturday to accompany Romes to view about three hundred open apartments. She's in totally serious house hunting mode, now that she's finishing her short term contract job at MTV and has a permanent one lined up in one of the movie channels.

After the barbie, can I ski down a mountain.. please please ???!!!!!!!! Mount Blue Cow is at its best. I'd even accept a New Zealand mountain.... although of course I'd have language problems there.. :sneaky:
