Democrats want it both ways. In 2004 they Stripped Mitt Romney of the power to appoint a replacement for John Kerry
when he won (NOT) the presidency. The law now is the people have to vote for replacement.
Now that Ted Kennedy has passed away they are scrambling their butts off to get it reversed seeing as they have a Democrat as Governor....

It seems to me that the democrats always manage to damage their own credibility the moment it appears they may be gaining some again. They are their own worst enemy, IMO.
