Aren't you meant to be lifting those bans soon and letting The Beast back to wreak more of her apocalyptic havoc on the site? She's not going to last long if she just keeps laughing it off, a neck full is a neck full.

Who said she was laughing it off? You did, Odie - look at the thread title... "Oscar and Odie--we're back and we're bad......LOL!".

What's off topic? Oscar's back on Monday. Will she still be bad? How on topic can a chap get?

Go and be mad at someone else, Odie. I don't react nicely to bullying, I never did. I tolerate it from newbies because they don't know better. You're not a newbie any longer.

your words:

She's not going to last long if she just keeps laughing it off, a neck full is a neck full.

I'm far from bullying you, and my title? It has nothing to do with you.

It was for myself and Oscar.;)

and for friends who wished to join in.

and everyone knows the title was just a joke.

and, how do you know she's back on Monday?

end of as I have other things to do than argue with you..again and again.

go find someone else to pick on and bully.

and for friends who wished to join in.That's what PMs are for, not threads with 300+ posts. I'm not aware that ForumGarden has started restricting who can post in what thread.

The title may or may not have been a joke everyone was in on - I took it more as a so-what challenge to the moderators in response to the previous swathe of account suspensions. My sole support for that viewpoint is oscar's subsequent dismissive hectoring behaviour ignoring all requests for courtesy, it seems pretty self-evident from the way she acted up that the foundation for my assumption is valid.

IF you had of read the first post here which others did....you would have known what I meant.

and did I not include LOL at the end?

of course you can post wherever you like, just stop bullying me......and interrupting threads with snide & rude comments.

from a mods point of view? a challenge? again.....read the posts.

and now your mentioning suspensions? :lips:

you are not to mention suspensions on an open board........as you used to be a mod, you should know better!

and even if threads have 300 posts, so what?

have you never seen our rooms here?:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

its what good friends do to communicate with each other.;)

oh and you never did answer me, how do you know Oscar is back Monday?

and did I not include LOL at the end?Indeed you did. Perhaps you don't know what LOL stands for? In your title it reads as gloating. There's two messages in the opening post, the text and the title. The title's rather ugly given the context in which the thread was started, your and oscar's previous account suspensions expiring.

Odie wrote: you are not to mention suspensions on an open board........as you used to be a mod, you should know better!Perhaps you could show me the instruction, I've not come across that one. Where should I look to read it? Or is it an instruction to just a small number of troublemakers?

Odie wrote: have you never seen our rooms here?:yh_rotfl:yh_rotflOddly enough I passed on the request for the ForumGarden Hotel to be set up. I even know what I recommended its setting up to achieve. For some reason you seem to think this thread's in that forum area, as far as I can see you actually posted it into General Chit Chat. The relevance of the rooms to what we're discussing escapes me.

Odie wrote: oh and you never did answer me, how do you know Oscar is back Monday? It was mentioned in the post prior to the one in which I commented on it, fifteen minutes before I posted. Prior to then I couldn't have told you what day her account suspension was being lifted. I'm assuming the prior post is accurate.

Please excuse me for putting my 2 cents in your thread Odie. I'll erase it if you wish.

I think what is not understood is that you and Oscar were great friends and then had a falling out. When you both returned back to FG you and Oscar settled your difference and became friends again.

I do believe that the title of your thread means that you and Oscar are back as friends again, and by saying you're bad is kinda a term that means we're bad because we're going to party and have fun now that we're friends again.

I know that in the States, this saying "I'm back and I'm bad" means that things in my life are better now..so life is good.

This thread was meant as a friendship one with Oscar, not as a slight to the mods....Is this right Odie?

My initial comment in this thread, "Perhaps 'we're back and we're bad' wasn't the most sensible or diplomatic of comments in retrospect after all", seems entirely fair from where I'm standing.

And I agree with you on the title "we're back & we're bad" can give a whole different meaning to someone else. I also winced at the title originally & I was out of the country when that thread went up. I saw it when I was in Ireland originally but never commented on it when I was over there....if you remember I was also suspended at the same time which didn't really matter as I was on holidays.

Even the acronym LOL here in the States originally meant just a hearty laugh at something funny. But that was before "smilies" were commonplace. That still means the same to me now...just a big laugh. I didn't know that others thought of it differently.

I think that there will always be misunderstandings between different cultures due to how one interprets others' words, phrases or tone of voice. That's why I try to be careful now when I read something questionable because I'm not sure of the true meaning of the post.

Geeze, when I first visited Ireland and England I was always using the phrases.....Can I have a ride...(meaning a lift into town) and I was shagging all night (meaning dancing to the music). Imagine how horrified I was when I found out what the phrases meant in the UK and Ireland:o:p:D

Oh I forgot about that one. When I returned home from Ireland I asked someone sitting next to me in the restaurant....someone I knew...if I could bum a fag....Well....I was in deep do do with person as he thought I meant something else:yh_rotfl

The next night we went to the same restaurant and this person was sitting next to me again. I offered him an Irish fag.....A Carrols fag and the cop sitting near us thought we were smoking pot as Carrols has a sweet odor.

He walked over to me and quietly said...Kathy...put that out now because you are my friend, and I don't want to arrest you for smoking pot.

Till this day I don't think he believes me that it really was not a "funny cigarette" which is what some Yanks call pot.

BBC NEWS | UK | Magazine | Early dinner explains in detail.

"the answer to all these questions was quite straightforward. Jim and his dad were working class. And members of the working class at that time thought it completely natural to eat five o'clock in the afternoon. But even more, as members of the working class they took it for granted that everyone else ate at that time and would happily regard egg and chips and tea as the perfect meal for the occasion." [...] "my mother made it very clear that I wasn't to talk about eating "tea" at 5pm (it was "dinner", not "tea") outside of the house", etc.

Most of my family members eat between 5 and 7 PM. Everyone is starving by then after a full day's work and need some energy. If I eat any later than 7 PM....I suffer later on for it.

What I said I did was quote the previous post, I didn't say I thought it was accurate. By my calculation it's not, the account suspension expires on Tuesday. It's a simple enough sum.

Still, if you know when she was returning of course then that's fine too.

KE, you may put your two cents worth in anytime.

were bad just means were fooling around.

were certainly not out on the streets fighting.:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

or selling drugs!:yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

-the first post tells it all.

feels good to put differences aside.....as life is just to short.

to bad some can't.

This thread was meant as a friendship one with Oscar.

this thread is no different from everyone having their own rooms to visit and chat with.

speaking of which, did you get to the beach today?

Of course it was meant as a friendship thread:-6 Unfortunately there was a misunderstanding, and I'm glad that it's all settled now.

Guess our mates will be back on FG tomorrow.....I hope.....

Yes, I did go to the beach today, and it was lovely. I also went to Klees for some pub grub....I lubs my Klees:-6 Thanks for asking:p

I wish we did too Odie. You'd love the beach and Klees;)

Sometimes during the cold, grey winter days as I'm driving home in the dark, my steering wheel just keep going to the left, and I always end up at Klees:confused:...wonder how that happens??

in the winter we become quite depressed with having to stay in.....

you need that little high before you come home.;)

wish I had that here........I need that bit of high everyday now.

What do you recommend for appetizers? And what is your fave dinner?

Oh Ducky,

We usually order a bunch of appetizers and share. We love the crabmelt, nachos, quesadillas, potato wedges and coconut shrimp.

For dinner I love the old stand-bys......thin-crusted pizza or pork roll and cheese with old bay fries, and a side order of caesar salad.

They make fabulous wraps...My new favorite is bbq'd chicken with caesar salad, sundried tommos, goat cheese and black olives.

My family loves to order their mussels, crab cakes, garlic shrimp and tilapia dinners.

I read their menu...I thought it was Klees restaurant & bar....:wah:..duh on my end until I read the shirt Klees bar & grill! Bingo, menu came right up & in my face:wah:...yup regular bar grub...prices are not bad, same as here. Mmmm, mussels in red sauce.

Omg, went meat shopping this am...filet mignon (I know your not big on meat) but for 6.99/lb...ended up with 12 1" steaks...had them for dinner:-4 just outside of medium rare on the grill. I'm going back tomorrow to get another order...they were delish.:-4

Tilapia is the most boring fish unless it's got some kind of marinade or they dress it up with something...it always needs something. John likes it but says it's the dullest fish he's ever eaten if its not dressed up with something:wah:.
