White House/Obama Advisor linked to racially based boycott of Glen Beck

Post by cigar898 »

A White House/Obama advisor has now been tied to a racially based boycott of Glen Beck's TV show on Fox.

Now I personally believe that any advertiser can choose to pull its ads from anything, and I have no problems with groups that want to boycott companies. It is, afterall, just a form of voting with your dollars and that is very American. What I don't like is White House officials who are using their influence and apparently their positions to promote their personal bias and agenda.

Obama Official Linked to Racially Charged Boycott of Glenn Beck - HUMAN EVENTS

by Michelle Oddis

A racially charged activist group called “Color of Change founded by Van Jones, a special advisor to the Obama Administration, is trying to silence popular radio and Fox News personality Glenn Beck by calling for a boycott of Beck’s TV advertisers.

On July 28th, Beck made a comment on the Fox & Friends morning show about Obama’s reaction to the arrest of Dr. Henry Louis Gates Jr. During the discussion of “Professor-Gate, Beck connected the President’s past association with Rev. Jeremiah Wright to Obama’s comment that Cambridge police officer, Sgt. James Crowley, acted stupidly. Though Beck acknowledged most of the Obama administration is in fact white, he concluded that the President’s world experience made him a “racist.

Now “Color of Change has bullied at least five of Beck’s big advertisers -- SC Johnson, Progressive Insurance, Geico, Procter & Gamble and Nexus Lexis -- to pull their ads from Beck’s national cable program. Jones, the founder of “Color of Change, was named Special Advisor for Green Jobs at the White House Council on Environmental Quality. . .

Are you against people using their position because it is wrong or because they don't follow your own political thinking. Would you think the same if say someone you agree with had done the same thing or would that be OK??

Are you simply asking, or do you have a whammy in your pocket you're waiting to whip out with dramatic flair?

I get pissed when people set up a "gotcha." If you have something to say, say it.

Asking, no dramatic whammy, sorry. Just surprised at your disbelief that people use their positions for their own advantage or to push a certain agenda. And that you find it disturbing that a Democrat does it but that a Republican is just being a "good ol' boy" looking out for the publics best interest doing the same thing.

If you know of a republican using his/her position to push a race-based agenda, bust 'em out. I agree that's just as wrong as the op. Who is it?

It occurs to me that Obozo WAS acting like a racist

by "profiling" the situation and deciding, with no facts nor information to cloud his judgment,

that the white guy MUST have been the one in the wrong.

So now, stating your opinion, based on fact, isn't "allowed" if it's considered derogatory to MR. Obozo? AND (working) people's heads need to roll??

(Way to cut down unemployment, there, pal)

And all of the American peeps just sit back and ho-hum? ...
