BRUNTZ;1234820 wrote: Hello, I'm the Nomadad. I took the name BRUNTZ because he's a character in one of my books. Bruntz is a play on words that Nomad came up with when he was a little guy. I appreciate all of your comments, and am extremely nervous about my first book being entertaining. It is out of my hands at this point, waiting to see what editing has been done by the publisher. I have learned a lot in the last year, especially that I know squat about the English language. I have an acronym above my monitor, "****". Meaning: Passion, Intellect, Savvy, Skill. I have all but the last one. However, I am a sponge for knowledge and continue to absorb. I feel better about the second book because I've had more time to apply my learning. It's a novel centered on the disturbing topic of child abuse. Lots of blood, killing, and bad guys.

If you are curious enough, SECRETS can be ordered through North Star Press on my website. Anxious, though apprehensive, I would appreciate your comments.

I have taken to staying a bit outside the typical 'who-dunnit' and concentrate on keeping the suspence with the story and dragging the characters through some unseemingly bad situations.

Enough of that; I'd like to dispell the idea that Nomad has no talent. We just don't know what it is yet.

As mentioned in my website, I have recently connected with one of my sons. I don't think I have actually disconnected from Nomad, but the distance between us is too much. My purpose now, is to build a bridge, and as I mentioned to Nomad, "With the right mortar". Our family came out of a war zone and needs some mending. The biggest fix is probably not too far off, I hope.

Thanks for 'listening', and stay in touch.

You must feel so proud of your acheivement:-6I hope the book does realy well:D

Nomads talent is being able to make people smile in almost any situation! he regualrly has me literally laughing out loud:D

And inconvenient honesty.

Neither of them generate a financial return in Western societies but the two together build interesting people.

I've tried blogs before but everything I posted got sent into space. I'm learning how to navigate this one and am happy Nomad got me into it.

I'm waiting for the official release of the book, and before that there is supposed to be an advanced reader copy to give out for reviews and critique. I think my ineptness at MSWORD has given the publisher a bit of a tangle to work with, and being a newbie, I need to be calm and wait. They sent a note saying that I'd get something soon. I hope they mean the book and not something contagious.

The recent news of Jaycee Lee Dugard has everyone cheering, but I can imagine the crumpled condition of not only her mind, but also her children. My next book deals with a similar subject. The end lists hotline numbers for abused and runaways; I've added her name along side Jacob Wetterling.

After reading 'The Shack' I have decided to become a calmer more understanding person. However, if they give me the rope, I'll you-know-what the abductor, and become calm after.

I'm 71 years old and still don't know what I want to do when I grow up.

I picked up some juicy work yesterday. Investigative stuff. I get to hunt someone down. I cant use an elephant gun or a crossbow so when I get them Ill fling them to the ground and twirl them around in the air with my feet until they beg for mercy. Then Ill do the James Bond pose and light a cigarette.

It''s an idiomatic expression, Ian. You know that perfectly well. It means circumstances a person doesn't deliberately choose for themselves. As usual you show up, you have a few chats, the adrenalin kicks in and you head for meltdown. I've no idea why you bother.

Come back at the end of 2012 though, I want to put in several weeks dismembering your new age clap-trap after it's not happened.

The James Bond pose with the smoke encircling your well groomed head and the Walther dangling from your experienced finger will be worth many oooh's and ahhh's. When you get a few of these under your utility belt you can master the Horatio Cane pose, adjust your shades, and turn away from the camera.

You are my hero, and there must be a story in there someplace.

The final edit was done on Tuesday, and it went to press right away. I have a radio interview on Thrusday, Sept 24 and have been promised it would be out then to provide a copy for call-in. One of the hardest things to adjust to in this business is the need to wait. I'm not very good at it.

KBEK, 95.5 FM 7:30 AM, Thrusday, Sept 24. It's a local station that might not reach beyond East Central MN. It will turn out to be a few minutes listening to a local dope sound as dumb as he really is. I have a tendancy to talk too much and never say anything.

I was assured there would be books available (or at least one) for the interview on the 24th. On Saturday, Sept. 26, there is a whing-ding at the St. Paul Civic center (The MidWest Book Sellers Assoc.) where the store buyers congregate to place their orders for the season. It will be defintately done at that time. I expect to get a note withing the next week that it is done. At that time I will go and pick up the first copy and leave off my next novel. I'm mystified at this process, but keep checking the North Star web site myself.

I'm hoping to cajole book stores into having a signing. The publisher is in big with Barnes & Noble. I'm scheduled to be at the one in Maple Grove on Nov. 14 at 11AM. I could only hope to get some more at other B&N stores, especially in St. Cloud.

I will try to contact book stores in Cambridge and Isanti to announce a signing at their stores in the radio interview. Everything seems to take too long to get finalized, and I am too impatient to wait. Also, I don't deal well with notoriety. I want to be the guy who sits in the back row making smart-ass comments.

When signings are scheduled I'll put them on my website. I'm not supposed to post a web page until I send fifteen of these messages.
