Its a groceries thread. Its the best Ive got. I racked my brain trying to find something interesting to say but this is the best I could do.
I dont use a list. I hit the meat dept. 1st. If a roast appears appetizing I get it then work around what will go with it. If I get pork chops Ill buy some things to compliment that for a meal. I stay focused that way otherwise Im running all over guessing.
Lets see how lame this can get.

You mean I have sat up tonight waiting for Gnomie to post the latest startling revelations from the Super-power and all I get Is Pork Chops?
No Scandal... No sex orgies... No assassinations... No coups???
Pork Chops???
What sort of pork chops are they? Loin? Rib? How can I even be expected to contribute when all I get is a generalisation?
HA...... I'm going to bed and I'll wait for Ginger Shrimp stirfry from Lon.

Pork Chops???
I know.
So I bought a roast and cooked it mainly for sandwiches.
Got some babyback ribs.
Quiche.
Asiago bagels and Toasted Honey Crunch.
Pecan rolls.
Cherry Vanilla and chocolate ice cream (30% more cocoa now)
Buffalo chicken wings for a snack.
Pot pie in case I dont feel like cooking one night.
I dunno......maybe someone will shoot at me tomorrow or the cat will throw up on my shoe so I can be more entertaining.

Bought a dehydrater last week and have been dehydrating everything I can think of...
went to the store and bought a big roast... gonna try and make some jerky
Here's a tip for ya... don't try and dry your fruits at the same time you dry tomatoes and onions and garlic sheves... it's kinda hard to get past the funky smell to be able to appreciate how bad that fruit now tastes..:-6
what do you make your quiche from or is it a frozen fella?

Funny I was entertaining the idea of a juicer. I think you need like 18 lbs of fruit for 1 glass though.
I watched a guy on tv dehydrate jerky in the oven. It looked meaty, like it still had a bite and not like leather. Dont care for leathery jerky.

Archer Farms (Target foods) actually makes some really good frozen products.

Got a blender to make fruit smoothies......... don't be fooled by commercials....those things are loud and annoying
If you do get the juicer, try out stuff you wouldn't dream of.. because you never know until you try it..

When I was in Omaha a few years ago, I tasted some wonderful cornbread stuffing. Nothing at all like it over here, well, not in Cornwall, anyway, so Nomad, dear, dear, dear friend, you know you sent me a lovely boxful of those peanut chocolate things (can't remember their name!!) a while back, could you possibly send me a packet of the stuffing, and I'll send something delightful back to you?

Grocery Shopping Tips from Nomie. Think of it. This would be a good program for the Food Network on televisoin. Just back to basic, no frills grocery shopping. You know your food budget. You know what you like to eat. Just get in the store and look and see what is available on that day. Buy it. Cook it. Eat it.
How back to basics is that?
