What job couldn't you do?

Post by Oscar Namechange »

I'm ok with animal poo and vomit. I have scraped half dead, blood soaked foxes off the road and not batted an eye-lid. I'd be OK in a zoo or animal sanctuary but I could not bring myself to work in anything involving hieghts or public toilets.

Where would you NOT work?

It is a nightmare. Our friends are in that Industry and they hate It once it gets past about 10 pm at night.

I couldn't work in a pub either.... I hate alcohol and drunks.

I drove a taxi for a few years. The day shift is ok. I got stuck on nights. I worked in a couple of slaughter plants. One was hogs, other was turkeys. I'd drive again before I'd work in a slaughter plant.

I have a grandson who is a repairman in a steel mill. He often has to work on the overhead cranes. Way up there. I couldn't do that. I don't even like being as tall as I am.:wah:

The only time I indulge is at a Stranglers Gig and then, it is the law. But then I have never been to a Stranglers gig without my brother who folds me into taxi's and gets me home. I have a bottle of Irish Cream as a treat every now and then but that's it. Like you, drunks annoy me.

Believe me, it's not easy working with drunks, especially when you are the only sober person in the place. Alcohol can change a personallity so quickly. I hate the ones that come in, already drunk, and want to argue when I won't serve them.

I couldn't do any job that requires cleaning up any type of body fluids, or garbage.

The slurring is annoying, but the ones that really get to me are the ones who think they are the only person in the place. While you are waiting on 12 other people, they bellow your name like there is an emergency. You go over to see what's wrong and they ask you to change the channel on the t.v. :-5

I'm lucky to be in a position to not have to do "any job" but theres one from history that I would not have done. I'd rather have been a highwayman or sold my body to women with expensive taste.

The Groom of the Stool. One would have to "preside over the royal excrement". A prized position but a few steps down from an estate agent surely

I don't think I could work in a shop. I could think of nothing more tedious yet I would love to work in a pet shop. A Doctors receptionist would be out as well. I'd get too upset at seeing poorly babies and elderly folk.

No.

I have had to pull all the carpet from several houses on one block when the city sewer burped up living chunks of human fecal matter into their homes. Judging from the end result it appeared to have been a rather violent eruption. The one memory Ive yet to let fade is the urine and poop flying into my face as the carpet was tugged from the floor. I also recall my employer confiding in me that this would be a good experience for me. Im still troubled by his statement and to this day I vehemently disagree.

It was an unpleasant experience and one I do not wish to repeat at any point in the duration of my remaining days on Earth.

I've given this some serious thought and don't think I could do the job of a Proctologist's Assistant.
