What people say they'll do if this and that and what they do when it happens are usually two different things.

There are a lot of doctors up here north of the U.S. border that have gone south due to all the new regulations that these past couple of governments have changed. They are really having a hard time making their overhead and keeping their committments going at the hospitals that they have priviledges in. It is very hard to get a GP that will see you if you don't have problems with Workers Compensation or Insurance Corporation of BC, because they then have to spend an awful lot of time do medlegal reports, that they don't get properly paid for. So, bottom line, the doctors in the States know what they are up against already.

Meant to also add this, it is a very sad day that U.S. citizens cannot get proper health care despite their income. I was down in the States back in the 70's and early 80's and when my husband had that massive stroke, he had a health care plan, which in turn did not leave us destitute. Thank god for that, but I know for a fact that the County Hospitals were being overrun with people that did not have Health Insurance. I don't understand.

I've been looking at this health care issue in the US and It worries me for my US friends. It really does make us Brits grateful for the National Health service that we have where, beggar and rich man are treated the same. I do hope Obama sorts It but I don't have much faith In him to be honest. It seems to me that If Obama introduced a very similar kind of NHS as the UK, the contributions from workers would go to the Government and not the Insurence companies. No wonder they are up in arms.

The Health Care issue should not be an issue, when you think about the billion dollar corporations that they have in the States (regardless of the fact that a lot of companies are having problems down there at this time, it has never been offered). It just seems that it comes down to that mighty dollar that an employer could provide as a benefit, as opposed to NOT and sticking it in their own pockets. I may be truly out of line here, but that is just my opinion and concern for these people that have given their lives and worked their guts out for a particular company.
