Maybe someone else might be able to advise us. I'd have thought waqf was closer to what you're looking for.

Maybe I spelt it wrong. I will ask Murmat tomorrow to spell it for me. I have picked up a great deal of Turkish over the years but could not write it down.

I did spell it correctly. I found this on the net.

يعني also means 'means'

it's derived from the root عنى which means 'to mean'.

you can use it to say something like "I meant to do that" or "what does it mean".

you can also say "لا يعنيك" which means "it doesn't concern you."

Look... don't get smart :wah: I can speak Turkish but I can't read or write It. However, I will take that snippet in tomorrow for Murmat to look at. I believe It's Arabic origin.

You can almost hear the inflection in his voice and see the raised eyebrow. Ill bet theres some serious tongue clicking going on too.

You know that he lives very close to me. I swear I could hear the tutting coming down the wire and I could see the eyebrow slowly rising over the rooftops like a sinister sunrise on a cold frosty dawn.

He's tried but eventually they banned him from the zoo for upsetting them. It got so bad that the big man Jock, would scream and charge, beating his chest with his fists. He also upset the Prarie dogs as well when he accussed them of being in favour of the Bush foriegn policy.
