Iran Nukes: Wheres the threat?
Hmmm!! Why is it that some can have nukes and others not? Israel, Pakistan, India OK. North Korea, Iran no, no.

Don't forget the Col Murmaar Gadafi of Libya might have a nuke under his tent.

Isreal could have dropped a nuclear bomb on Iraq when Sadam started lobbing missles into Televiv but they didn't. Can you say the countries you mentioned would have shown the same control?
They still deny they have them, it would have been a bit of a give away, apart from that they are kind of close to the fallout. Pakistan and india are a bigger problem, you have a nutter in charge in Pakistan.
It is getting to the point that if you are accused of having WMD's then you may as well get them because nobody believes you don't anyway and it is the only defence you are left with.
Once the oil runs out we are all going to need nuclear power anyway-we should really be developing the nuclear power industry, that's if global warming doesn't do us in first.

When Regan dropped a few five thousand pounders on Gadafis house one night I think Gadafis kids, who were attending private school in the US, helped him 'see the light'. When Gadafi realised what kind of a man he was screwing around with up to that point he sobered up.
There's another Reagan in the Whitehouse. When Bush has had enough of Irans ongoing BS whereby they promise one thing yet continue to buy yellow cake, for instance, then Bush will destroy Irans nuclear weapons program. It's as simple as that.

There are some people who can be trusted and some that can never be trusted.
The 'Sun God" or whatever he likes to call himself in N. Korea is a wacko, pedophile, psychopath. If you think it's OK for him to build/have/sell nuclear bombs to whoever has the money and attempt to use them to blackmail other countries that's your opinion.
It's not OK with me.

So, If I understand you correctly, you are saying that it is up to the U.S. to decide who is to be trusted and who is not to be trusted, who's a whacko & a psychopath, correct? We sure know how to pick em, guys like Abacha, Pol Pot, Zia, Amin, Suharto, Botha, Somoza et al, of course, better these guys than a communist, right?

Iran Nukes: Wheres the threat?
sarasara wrote: Intro:
I have been agonising about Irans determination to develope nuclear weapons and the usual lethargy in a US protected world about others doing anything to stop them.
If the US or Israel has to bomb Irans nuclear sites we will once more hear 'the International Community' spitting on the US and calling her imperialist, unilateralist and aggressive.
It makes me sick that these countries allow the US to do their dirty work as world policeman for which they return not gratitude but a misguided moral superiority.
UN sanctions would only be a figleaf for Iran to finish the program.
Furthermore, taking the matter to the UN Security Council would further demonstrate the failure of that body (China has already promised a veto) leaving President Bush to be forced to take unilateral action once again.......while the 'International Community' pukes on him and the US for doing so.
The Question:
But what is the threat from Iran Nukes?
On one side you argue that they dare not use them on Israel (which they would like to at the drop of a turban) like all Islamists they are basically cowards and never put themselves in the firing line. In this case they cannot use young dopes to die for them, if they nuke Israel she will hit them ten times as hard.
The same goes for Pakistan the other local nuclear power currently regarded as 'an enemy of Iran' by the media.
As to threatening Iraq they would find that the US would enter into a pact with the Iraqis to respond on their behalf.
So where is the threat?
Pundits have said that there would be an ensuing arms race in the Region but so what? All that would mean is more poverty for those countries who go down that path and I personally cannot think of one country who would have anything to gain from arming.
But there is one thing that worries the hell out of me: The one big reason I can see for preventing Iran from getting nukes is the danger of them passing nuclear material to terrorists.Don't you not have any other life?:-2
