Childrens faces...
On sunday, Mr o and I had finally got round to sorting out our possessions in the garage and did a car boot sale. We had a lovely day sitting in the sun, meeting people and their dogs as well as taking just over £200 for our unwanted junk.
The stall next to us was selling childrens toys and I bought some Lego for two little boys who live at the back of me. I got chatting to the stall holder and was telling her about the little boys and their sister who's dad left their mum and how they had so little. At the end of the day, the stallholder came over and told me she only did one sale a year and asked If I'd like all the left over toys for the children. We took them down to them this morning and Oh, their faces !!!! :-6:-6:-6

They were soooooooo excited. They took the boxes upstairs to have a good rummage. Their mum bought me a box of chocolates this afternoon.
Pete did bugger all at the sale I must point out :wah: Except sit in the sun eating. It was a big venue with lots of stalls and I got some lovely plants for the patio. At the end of the sale, the Marshalls were going around checking that the plants were not poisonous. I was quite impressed by that. I think I've made a huge booboo and need to check out the Internet not that It will help me now. I sold a candle holder and the dealers there seemed too interested in it. I asked £15 and the guy didn't try to haggle me down which is unusual. I have a horrible feeling right now.

Isn't it a great feeling to see the smiles on the kids faces
what a great offering.
as far as selling something without knowing the actual value - we've all done it
just release it - it's done, you make your $$ money and that person may keep it or re -sell it??? done - gone..
best part of the day are the smiles on all
good day

Fair play to the stall holder who asked if we would like it all. I did offer to pay her some-thing and she refused wanting the children to have them after I'd told her they have so little. We do always get them birthday and Xmas presents and Pete slips them some pound coins here and there but for them to have boxes of toys was fabulous. They were all in fantastic condition as well. There was a huge lilac teddy bear in there that was brand new i think. The little girl has got it in her bed now. awwwwwwwww :-4

Yes, it's gone now Pats... the children are happy that's the main thing.
We did a sale two years ago and we had a revolting plastic Harry Potter alarm clock. the dealers were fighting over it and we got £45 for it. Amazing. There was another time when Pete had a selection of old watches from the 60's on the stall. At the very beginning, a watch dealer bought the lot but he picked up one and told Pete to whip it off the stall quick as it was more valuable than the lot put together and advised him to get it valued. He got £109 in auction for it. Sometimes, you really don't know what you've got in your junk do you?

Watch out....philanthropy is calling!! It would be a lot better of a world if more people recognised the good things one can do for neighbors! Its those who are closest to us that suffer the most. And alot of people dont even notice. (I do my bit for local homeless folk):-6
