The things parents tell you...

When I was a very small kidlet, like most, in the 60's we had a small black and white tv in the lounge. It was there I found my first love. I was around 6 years old when I very first saw Mick Jagger on the tv singing 'The Last Time'. Over the next few years my Father who believed all he read in The News of the World' did everything in his power to deter me from what he called 'The spawn of Satan. He'd read me countless articles from the tabloids of how Jaggs was allegedly a drug addict, womaniser etc etc. In the end he got desperate and told me that he was actually the Missing Link. ( Clods thread made me think of this). Between the age of 8 and 12, I actually believed my Father as you do.

y eldest broter tells a story of when at school the class was asked why yhe sea was salt, shot his hand up and pleaded to answer.

He then relayed the fairytale he was told by our father about the ship that sank while its 'salt making machine' was still operating.

Yes it's funny now.....but can you imagine his face when the teacher told the real reason ?

Your out as a kidlet being naughty in a shop and your mother points to a complete stranger and says to you 'See that man over there?' 'He's watching you and your going to be in so much trouble'. Yes, my mother used complete strangers to frighten her children !!! :yh_rotfl

Not strangers, it was policemen with my Mum.
