Micro meals - the best the worst.....

Post by buttercup »

Admit it, we all do micro meals, so which are the best and worst?

Tonight i had Tesco's own brand beef stroganoff.

6 mins 'nuke' of white and wild rice, good texture, tasty. Sufficient amount of beef, mushroom, sauce, reasonable price but did not look at calorie intake.

Could i actually cook it cheaper - No

Would i buy it again - Yes

Tonight I had Scallops with Peas & Mushroom in a Creamed Cheese Sauce with a tossed green salad on the side.Microwaved for seven minutes. Pretty low in salt, carbs and calories. Bought it for $4.00 at Trader Joe's. It's a good value and I will have it again for sure.

That's a tough one for me as I don't have them. We did have alot of take-aways before I decided we were going healthy and only have meat and veg from now on. I would have to say that Sainsbury's do the best for me. I find the portions generous and good flavours. I think the last I had was lemon chicken and rice. Not quite the same as the local Chinese but damn good all the same.

Scallops are tasteless muck. My husband goes diving and the whole club rally round the cooker after a scallop dive totally excited at the thought of all the fresh out the sea scallops. They all wonder at the taste of them.

What taste? :-3

I like them Natural with no sauce or flavouring. I also love Scottish Mussels and Oysters etc. :-4

You phillistine you. Scallops are wonderful

Those meals never look anything like what they do on the packaging.

Sainbury's do a good range of healthy quick meals but I do end up giving it a little bit more salt
