About time too.Totally agree yes it is about time. They should have number plates for a start and maybe then not so many would be so colour blind when they see a Red Light and mistake it for a Green one as they would know the camera would get them.

In Holland they have prper little paths or roads for bikes and their own traffic lights as well.

We have a maze of cycle paths here in Bristol that go for miles converted from the old railway lines. There is a huge problem with anti-social behaviour here and I've been told by the police many times that If they had their way, they would close the lot down. Muggings and assaults are rife on the cycle paths and when police give chase, they can not get a car up them and lose the suspect. All the yobs know them like the back of their hands and first sign of the police, they head straight for them because they know they can not give chase.
Even with all these miles of cycle paths, the Idiots are still on pavements in daytime when the cycle paths are safe.

in Holland the paths run alongside the roads ,, so they are next to the roads where the cars are ,, but have their own little road,,, Im talking about main roads etc in cities:) took me a little while to realise why i kept getting doirty looks from cyclists who kept nearly knocking me over :wah:

In the city, I've had some near misses when some pillock thinks he has the right of way and just swerves out infront of you. Then they curse YOU becuase your driving along the road legally. :-5

Round here we have the same-the police were issued with off road motorcycles so they could chase the little joyriding toerags and they also use mountain bikes. It's actuall been quite effective.

Our guys use mountain bikes also on occassions. It's the only way to catch them.

I met a group of them training in Glen Tress-some of them had never been mountain biking before. The language was dreadful and there were a lot of kids around. I know you shouldn't laugh but there is something indescribably funny about a policeman somersaulting over the handlebars of a mountain bike. The normal sympathy you feel when someone crashes was just lacking a bit.

I took this pic on my mobile phone about two years ago. Funny enough, I was waiting on the edge of the road for a unit myself. I just couldn't believe It when this one who was in persuit just lost It and ploughed into a wall infront of my eyes. After checking the Officers were OK, one could not resist a quiet snigger. 'Errrr Sarge... I've broke It'.
