If some animal bores a hole in my head and lays its eggs in my brain, how do I know later on if Im having a good idea or it's just eggs hatching?

In many places throughout the world during many time periods Roman Catholics and Protestants have been at each others throats even though the doctrinal differences are not great.

It appears to be the same, from outside, between Shia and Sunni (for example, we recently had a member join who was an evangelical Muslim who appeared to believe that Shia and "Orientalists" were not Muslim and anything said by them was lies).

Do you see any fundamental conflict between the two sects and, if so, what (or is it an invention of the Western media or is it more political rather than religious or ....).
