Church leaders in Britain have written to the manager of an alternative festive attraction called Satan's Grotto warning it could expose children and young people to "evil forces".
Around 30 church leaders expressed concerns over York Dungeon's display. The attraction replaces the traditional Santa with a grotesque figure in a dark cloak with a red face and horns.
Visitors to the grotto will be greeted by elves inpaled on spikes and robins roasting on an open fire.
Visitors are also handed gifts such as severed fingers and other body parts, and can write a scroll to sign their souls to the Devil.
A Spokesperson for the attraction, said the grotto has been running many years and was not taken seriously. We should perhaps, have put on the Spanish Inquisition. :-2

York Dungeon. The York Dungeon takes you back to a time before English society became genteel and ordered, to a time when execution and torture were everyday events.
Learn of the grisly punishments of branding, boiling, beheading, roasting and drowning.
Then unravel the truth about the local highwayman Dick Turpin and see him in the midst of a hold-up.
A special exhibit vividly recreates the Gunpowder Plot of 1605. You see the conspirators planning their mission and the arrest of Guy Fawkes (a native of York), followed by his terrible torture and execution for attempting to blow up the Houses of Parliament and the King.

Why are we giving people power to take our choices away? I did not choose to see Janet's breast and I would not choose to see this public display of someone's sick, twisted, broken mind
It's entirely in keeping with the nature of an attraction of that nature, what would you be doing taking little kids to a chamber of horrors anyway. Don't go if it offends you.
We live in a secular society church leaders should avoid going to such things if they find it offensive. Maybe they should feature the spanish inquisition as a warning to be wary of canting hypocrites with too much power. Basically the spokesperson was telling them not to be so silly.
