i first came in here one night, incredibly bored. I wanted to share my stupid jokes and dry humor with a new batch of people.

turns out everyone in here can put up with my jokes and goofy sense of humor. i think because i'm not there in person.

also, i can better form my thoughts online. have time to come up with a response.

time to actually think about an answer.

I have no soubt that in real life i would drive almost all of you bonkers. My sense of humor is my defense mechanism. situation gets too heated, too tense; i crack a lame and usually tasteless joke. Drives some of my closest friends crazy.

other than that, you guys stimulate me. Mostly intellectually, some a couple of you..........:sneaky: oh yeah!

Same for me, I study externally and I'm home a lot on my own, at least now I have people to chat with. I'm also addicted, don't get much study done anymore though.

Where else are you going to find all this wrapped up in one in "the world" ?

Its sheer diversity and it feeds itself, plus this particular site seems to have a nice equilibrium, some-o-this some-o-that. Its all quirked out !

OK---------I am not bored, I lead a very active and full life, but I have a need to hear other peoples opinions and thoughts on a wide range of subjects as well as sharing some of my own. I am curious by nature and what better way to satisfy some of that curiosity than by asking questions on this forum. I can get the latest jokes, news, gossip, movie reviews and trivia, elswhere. I do not seek or need agreement to any of my postings nor do I need marital or relationship advice or sympathy for my physical ailments.

I hope that I conduct myself always as a gentleman and respect each of your posts, irrespective of whether I agree with you or not.

I came here from another forum with LC. We were looking for something different, and bingo we found it. People here are funny, interesting, smart, and full of life. I like the fact that I can get to know people all over the world without leaving home..:wah:

I work long hours and at work there isn't much time for conversation, or fun. So I get to joke around here, and discuss subject that I find interesting. ;)

GREAT GROUP OF PEOPLE HERE AT FG.. :-4

I came here right after my life got turned up-side-down. I had lost my job and the sight in one of my eyes along with some other stuff. I wanted to vent and argue I guess. This place seemed to have some real depth to it. I started pretty slow. Since I started here I've had several other difficult things happen and it's been good to be able to get some objective advice and feeeback from people who can give it without worrying about seeing me face to face.

I give this forum and its people credit for being a part of helping me get my canoe right-side-up again.

I came here same as Clint, but "as" my life was turning up-side-down.

I was scared & looking for answers to many questions I had on leaving work, life after work, and opinions & life experiences from the many hundreds of people in this Forum. I met some exceptional people (Baby Rider, lady cop, graydeadhead, Suresh Gupta, Bill Sikes, Jahamma, weeder, ladybug, Pattybug52, Capt Buzzard, Paula, Suresh Gupta, A Kareina, Tombstone) in here and they were all so very understanding, helpfull & kind to me when I needed it the most! This Forum was a life saver for me! :-6 Now I come here cause I ENJOY IT!!!!

I came here because I see my husband at mealtime, bedtime and Sundays. He is a farmer who prefers the outside to the inside of a house. He was raised by the old school that work becomes first before anything else. So after the housework and the soap opera what else is there for me? I know---Forum Garden. I meet you wonder friends (I do no use that word loosely) from all over the world. I have learned so much from all of you, you make me haw-haw, you show compassion when its called for, you also share your lives with all of us. A big thank you for being here. :)

Thanks to working three jobs, I don't have a lot of time to "hang out" with people. And thanks to being in the poorest and most illiterate state in the country, I don't have very many intelligent people to talk to.

Here at the Garden, I can do both! And with a group of wonderful people from all corners of the globe!:D

Eeek If I wrote really why I came here it would look really sad and pathetic. hehehehehehe

I came because the past forum was a nasty, vicious soap opera and I said so and I always made no bones about telling how miserable the group had become and that was how I got banned. Then suddenly I found I had another void in my life so I had to fill it. This place takes my mind off some heavy real life mind things and I consider it therapy now :) Darn fine therapy I might add.

I stumbled into a forum last year called "Bolt." I saw message boards, had no idea what they were, found one on hunting and gun control and proceeded to argue my views. I got slammed, called names, got some viscious PM's, and generally became a pariah. It took me a couple days to realize that the oldest member of that board was 19. I was in a teen forum!!! Well, I discovered that I liked the debate, if not the debators, and googled discussions forums. This was one of the first ones I came across, and I had such a lively intro thread that I've been here ever since.

Why am I here? Because I can exercise my otherwise stagnant brain cells.

As for people tolerating me in real life, they do. I am no different in real life than I am here on FG.

I was pointed towards a Buddhist Forum...my first....I liked the idea of 'talking to people' from my home ( I don't have many freinds outside of work). The Buddhist forum was good but took a narrow path....I joined a couple of forums geared towards gardening...again narrow paths.....I went searching for something more diverse and found FG. There is everything here ....compassion, advice, fun and serious discussion. I have been able to tell everyone here stuff about my life that I have kept to myself...didn't want to burden my kids or workmates...the relief at 'letting go' has been enormous. I think a lot of us feel more comfortable in this slightly 'fantasy' world...it IS real, the people are real but the situation is unreal if you know what I mean. The lonliness I have felt for many years has gone...I can't wait to get home from work, log on and get 'stuck in'. I feel that there are genuine freindships here....It's a bit weird really...BUT I LOVE IT. Thank you all....

I found this place when I was still married, I'd left my husband once before but had stupidly gone back.

I felt very alone, I'd had brilliant support from all my freinds the first time I left, and I guess I was scared of leaning on them too much again, as I know that they were all shocked and upset when I went back to him.

I came on here and got supprot from some people here, it helped to see the situation from un-biased peoples points of veiw. I built myself up and became strong enough to leave him for good.

So here I am now a single Mum with two children who are in bed by 7:30pm each night and I need to make contact with freinds, have a laugh etc etc.

I guess you guys are my 'social life' right now!!

I came here because I was a computer geek widow, Pete was on his computer everynight and I either sat watching tv or playing around on my computer, he sugested I join a forum, and after looking around and reading posts I thought what the hell......I love it here and now I am on the computer more than Pete. There´s no going back I would be completely lost if I couldn´t talk to all my new friends that I have made here. Thank you everyone for making me happy.

A friend of mine started his own web-site not too long ago and asked me to check it out. He's into weather. He has just a County forum at his site which doesn't receive much action because the County we live in is very small. I inquired of him, as to what a forum exactly was and he was kind enough to explain. Then told me how to go about locating one that I would be interested in.

Well, FG was the best that I found! Very interesting people, topics, and a place to sometimes get a good laugh. I was looking for something to do with my evenings after putting in a long day at work, to relax and put my mind in a totally different zone. The FG does exactly that for me. I find a lot of neat people here to share views with from all over the World. A great place to be part of!!!!

And the great thing is no matter what hour you sign in there is bound to be someone you know already on FG. I do not think we have ever seen FG without a handful of members on. Gosh just today I noticed we had dipped as low as 12 whooo weeee

I plan on taking control of Forum Garden thats why Im here. Im starting out at the bottom and working my way to the top infiltrating everything along the way. First I started by collecting threads and storing them in my underwear drawer, next Ill be collecting all of your minds and keeping them in some old luggage.

When I have enough Forum Garden stuff Ill be in charge and youll have me to answer to.

Life will be really really good then ! :-6

Perhpas somoene should do some research and find out why we are here.

I've always been into debait and stuff like that. Earned the National Degree in something I can't spell. It is a fancy word for speach.

It does seem like us forum members have had more trama then the average Joe Schmoe. But that might just be projection.

I think joining a forum can be psychologically healthy and counteract depression. It gives a person an outlet to express themselves and also feel that they have someone to communicate with when they're home alone.

I have never suffered from depression but, over the last few weeks I was beginning to wonder if I was starting to, I broke up with a boyfriend of two years and felt lonley without him, as he was always at my house. I joined FG and haven't felt lonley since, it has really helped me cope with lonley evenings and I feel great again, I don't even miss him anymore.:)

Maybe that is our bond here in FG Many of us have gone through trauma of some sort and coming here and being able to gain a little support and kindness and making friends has been helpful to get us through our trauma's. There is a lot to be said about "misery loves company"

i was on a crime forum for a long time, my main interest. when the scott peterson trial was over, it seemed the forum just fell into the doldrums. i saw a link to FG on another board and liked the variety of topic possibilities. i asked for a crimes and trials forum here and it was kindly granted by admin. then i saw it as a great venue for getting Amber Alerts out to people that may otherwise not have seen them....then i opened the pub and have too much invested in it to ever leave! ...you cannot fail to feel at home here. :)
