That really got to me, Rap. I have to find the tissues. For real.

I'm thinking of all the other children who would like to have their dad...or mom...home with them for Christmas. Every time I hear the song, "I'll be Home for Christmas", I think of them.

My father's been dead for sixteen years now. I was just thinking of him yesterday. Sure do miss him at Christmastime, he was always so funny when he opened his presents.

I guess if yours is still alive, you should definitely tell him you love him.

Some good news for some military families during the holidays:

Stephen King pays for troops' trip

Dec. 13, 2009, 1:40 PM EST

BANGOR, Maine (AP) -- Author Stephen King and his wife are donating money so 150 soldiers from the Maine Army National Guard can come home for the holidays.

King and his wife, Tabitha, who live in Bangor, are paying $13,000 toward the cost of two bus trips so that members of the 3rd Battalion, 172nd Infantry Unit can travel from Camp Atterbury in Indiana to Maine for Christmas. The soldiers left Maine last week for training at Camp Atterbury. They are scheduled to depart for Afghanistan in January.

Julie Eugley, one of King's personal assistants, told the Bangor Daily News that the Kings were approached about giving $13,000.

But Stephen King thought the number 13 was a bit unlucky, so the couple pitched in $12,999 instead. Eugley chipped in $1 to make for an even $13,000.

I watched the video and yes, it was very cute and emotional. Then I watched a few more, and after a while I kind of thought that it is really unfair to the child to stick them in front of such a public view for something so personally upsetting and private for them.

There was one girl in another video who was very very emotional, what gives them the right to invade her privacy that way?

It is not really all that cute. A little kid is clearly really missing someone, then for ‘news’ they stick the kid in front of cameras so we can all watch a very emotional moment.

I would never do that to my kids. I hate the media, they are scum even when they think that they are doing something good.
