I'm proud of my trooper wife!

Post by cars »

Well to my surprise, we've been here for a dozen days now in our Southern villa! I was not sure how my wife was going to react coming back to where she had a SNAKE, (we hate SNAKES) just 4 feet from her while she was on our PC here last season. The night we got here, to try to make her feel more comfortable, I looked under & moved every piece of furniture, checked every corner, opened every cabinet, looked everywhere & anywhere anything could hide. Thankfully, nothing was found, it was just a one in a billion unthinkable thing that had to happen to us last season! She's still jumpy, and still won't go into the A/C room where the critter slithered in from, (it's only been 12 days) but I'm happy my little "trooper" is able to handle it as well as she has! :)

Can you in all honesty say that every now and then, you don't think you see movement out of the corner of your eye? :yh_rotfl:yh_rotfl

I give her a lot of credit for going back there. I am scared to death of snakes and if I saw one, I'd be out of there before you could blink :wah:

I'm surprised as well, and very proud of her as well! Unfortunately, (or fortunately as the case may be) inside our villa is beautiful!

One where she put here heart & soul into decorating it to the nines! So . . .

She's still looking on line for other places, but as each day passes, it may mean that she will one day finally re-adjust. Time will tell.

Tell Mrs. Cars that I'm very proud of her. but really, that could happen anywhere and most of us can't move to a new house if and when it does. In this house that I bought next door to my daughter, said daughter informed me a couple of months after I'd moved in that the lady who lived here before found a snake in her washer in the utility room! I immediately sealed off every possible entry, every nook & cranny with steel wool. Hopefully I won't see any snakes in my house. I have seen them outside, though.

Thanks I'll her. Sorry to hear of your problem that occured, even though it wasn't directly with you! Anyway, I plugged every hole & possible entry as well as soon as we moved in. But our bugger slithered in through the A/C's 3/4" dia. condensation drain outlet pipe that runs from the A/C unit for about 50 feet under the foundation to the outside of the structure. (whoda thunk it) I've since installed 5 screws in the pipe to act as a barrier to stop things getting in, but still will allow the condensation to exit as required.

I'm so glad that you and the Mrs. are having a lovely time in FL. Good on ya Cars:guitarist

I've decided to take a trip to FL Cars and booked an unexpected trip to Siesta Key, Fl for the end of March...for 11 days....I can't wait....I'm over the moon just to see my beloved SK beach once again. I plan to relax and do nothing except eat, drink and be merry:wah:

Let's see...what am I gonnnnna dooooo? :wah:....beach, book and coffee in the am on the beach, late lunch at the pub for some pub grub, live music and a great 'blue lagoon,' back to the beach for some more fun, and then nighttime stuff to do:-6

Cheers my friend:D

Yes that's so very true, but it becomes another ball game when you find one inside your villa! (house, but I like villa) Coiled up 4 feet from where you're sitting!

A CHRISTMAS present for my wife who has most everything!

So to give her extra "peace of mind", (what price peace of mind) I installed two stainless mesh screen's on the A/C condensation pipe's that exits our villa. It's an over kill, as I already had blocked off the pipes inside our villa which was very easy to reach. The outside pipes were difficult to reach, as they were only 3" off the ground burried behind big bushes, so . . .

OK, anyway, the pix may look a little errotic to some, but in reality it is a pix "looking down" of the two stainless steel mesh screens clamped onto the to exit pipes!!!

The "Mrs" is the one who pointed it out to me! :D

Actually I took the pix to give to her, so as to show her, her Christmas Present, as she would never go there to look at it first hand!!;) She's a much happier camper now, so it was worth it!!! :)

Now the "sand" is do-able, but it really may not still be warm by the time you got it! :D
