Peg, Mustang, Carla, Nomad and Pammie :-4 Thank you, and have a really special Christmas.

My day has gone a little pear-shaped...son-in-law developed the d and v bug in the early hours, daughter-in-law is 7 months pregnant and so can't be near him. So, my son, daughter and I are still working on the logistics of changing our day to include everyone...

oh yes, and my cat decided to pooh all over the kitchen last night :wah:

Hi Theia!!!!!!!!!!!!! Sending an extra hug - for the Second Day of Christmas, along with the Two Turtle Doves and the Partridge in a Pear Tree.

We've had quite a few, much missed no-longer-posting members drop in this Christmas - it's kind of sad.

Anyway - this is a propos of nothing. I'm looking at the Partridge in the Pear Tree thing and the gallic bit of my blonde brain suddenly twitched. Is this corrupted French? The French for partridge is perdrix (pronounced pretty closely to pear tree). Coincidence???? I shall think beautiful thoughts about that while negotiating the mine field of this new dawn..

You've got me started now...thinking along the lines of 2 half price cardis bought today in Sainsburys Sale. But how can I rhyme Sainsburys? Pammie???

I'll sleep on it and maybe tomorrow, I'll be inspired. By the way, both cardis have an odd bulge on both sides just below the waist...is this a new fashion or can I only wear them around the house or under a coat...can't take them back, they were a bargain.

(Promised her a bookcase for Chrissie.. She has today off work, so we're going to brave the crowd. The big Ikea in Rhodes here is about 100 miles long too, so we can get in a good walk at the same time... Now where's me coffee???)

AAAARGHGGHGGHGHGH

We got the bookcase - a bed, two occasional tables, two lamps, a desk, desk chair, a bed, and a great big armchair Romy can curl up in and read her books... and of course the partridge in a pear tree. She took me to lunch afterwards (when we'd found the car.. sigh... we were on the wrong parking floor) - some very fine sushi.

And green TEA... :sneaky:
