Morgan is NOT my baby

Post by buttercup »

Just to clarify :wah:

Her Mum is a very special young girl who is like a daughter to me so i feel very close to this baby indeed, like a Grandma. :-4

On the topic of older Mums with babies, i can see the benefits but its not something i would ever do, i'd rather raise lots of puppies now than children, how does everyone feel about older Mums?

we all thought she was your baby!:yh_rotfl

kittens for me!:wah:

I wouldn't want kids at a later stage in life, its very difficult as we get older, we have less patience and I wouldn't want them only being 25, when I'm 65 and their still living at home.:yh_rotfl

If they can handle it, good for them! At 49, I just don't think I could do it 24/7 any more.

Sorry I got it wrong, Buttercup.

On older mums - for that matter, older dads? There are so many different circumstances. I think Forum Garden has gone round in circles on this one many times, ruffled feathers, resolved nothing. :-6

Ah I hear the patter of little feet, and the television going on. Cartoons at dawn.. sigh.... school holidays... I neeed coffee!!

Actually Odie women have more patience as they get older.

I've been thinking of having another one for awhile now.......(not exactly spare of the moment stuff) I'm forty and I don't mind a 25 year old when I'm 65. That's still in hte realms of reason I think. Heck you're not old at 65. You'e still working at that age. I have two years while I study to get pregnant if I so desire. And that would fit in very nicely with my life.

 Have you a man in your sights then :yh_rotfl

Study and do pregnancy - yikes, you'd need a very very very hands on father to do that!

But I do totally agree with you on the older mum having more patience, she's also a whole lot more relaxed and baby tends to be a lot more contented.

My whole degree is on line except for Prac placement and exams. so I'm home all the time. I did this deliberately because I wouldn't have been able to get the boys to school if I'd have had to travel 150km round trip to Uni everyday.

This way I'm home for them, can raise the animals properly and study and do pretty much what I like. I have three years of down time so if I can get pregnant in the first two all will be well ...if not I'll have to pass it by because it just won't be viable .:)

Yes, I have a man thank you .:wah:

didn't you guys acquire 'selective hearing' when raising you're kids? It sought of begins at the same time as your children start saying " I want" ..Can I have" .....:wah::wah:

I remember when people told me I was an idiot when I began foster parenting . I was a single mum back then. No one could believe you could raise your own and someone elses as well. Well they are the twits now.:)

Hey honey! :-4

I honestly could hear my two grown children laughing at me all the way across the Atlanic!

Besides that, my grandbabies are alot more fun! Even at 47. Yeah we are alot younger and healthier than our grandparents were at our age, but still...

Oh no sweety! For myself I found I am way more relaxed with the babies. When my sons were litle, I was always tense and freaking over ever fever and sneeze, but I find being a nan is so much more fun and relaxing. I am enjoying them more.

Well my girls are this year approaching 24 and 21 so it seems likely being a granparent may not be much further ahead.

Scary, isn't it?!!!

My older daughter produced quite early!!! But one of her school friends produced even earlier. That one was 14, and her mum had also been not much older when she had her. The new grandma was just 30!!!
