Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has finally responded to C-SPAN CEO Brian Lamb's letter imploring Congress to live up to their transparency promises by televising health care reform negotiations. From The Hill:
C-SPAN wrote a letter to congressional leaders Tuesday asking that TV cameras be allowed to film negotiations to reconcile the House and Senate versions of healthcare reform legislation.
But Pelosi said Congress has already been transparent throughout the process.
"There has never been a more open process for any legislation," Pelosi said at a press conference.
Never been a more open process?! It's no secret that Pelosi and Democratic leaders are desperate to pass health care reform, but do they really think delusional lies are the best way to win over the public?

I thought a good portion of the health care debate was opened up to the cameras.
The GOP seemed to use the time for talking-point stump speeches and really contributed nothing constructive. More of that would be a waste of time IMO.
Now they are just merging the two bills, from the house and senate.

Medicare is socialized medicine, of course. First the GOP was against it, now they pretend to be for it. Just like civil rights. I wouldn't trust most those guys.

Yes, but because Republicans started getting their butts handed to them election after election (because they were blamed for the Depression) they decided to cache in on the racism in the South. It worked too. Then there was a major political realignment where the South changed from Democratic to Republican.
