good evening and welcome to grumpy towers i,ve been expecting you.
the kettles on and the fires lit so shall we retire to the drawing room ?
now this one you couldnt make up
some of broadmoors most notorius killers ordering DJ equiptment and by mail order too.
i also find it incredible that because broadmoor is a NHS hospital the inmates can claim social security benefits and are possibly better paid than the staff who work there.
so we are paying to keep murderers in a life of luxury
as i said you couldnt make it up but it is a two fingered snub to all those who work hard to try and earn a living .
what if the lib dems get in next time remove the wall from broadmoor because it obstructs the paitients view of the surrounding countryside ??
SOME of Britain's most dangerous killers and rapists are learning to mix music like superstar DJs in a hi-tech studio at Broadmoor.
Five patients at the top security hospital have splashed out thousands of pounds of taxpayers' cash on the latest professional equipment.
Anthony Joseph ... psychopath knifed a man to death after throwing chips at his girlfriend on a London bus in 2005. Has bought a software system to download tracks and create his own tunes
The budding DJs - who receive up to £80 a week in benefits - even have a music teacher to help them spin discs in the plush "sound suite".
A Broadmoor insider said: "They ought to be in here to face the music - not make music.
Jamie Limbrick ... twisted 24-year-old raped and strangled his 92-year-old grandmother in 2003, then set her home alight. He has an £850 Pioneer mixer and £2,500-worth of other gear including a beginner's mixer, a DJ processor and stacks of 12-inch records
"You cannot believe the equipment they have bought from saving up their benefits and pocket money.
"They can add it to any wages they get for working in here or any private money they have stashed and get it all brought in by mail order. It's state-of-the-art stuff."
The group, dubbed Beastly Boys after US stars the Beastie Boys, are all classed as highly dangerous and have severe personality disorders.
As well as killers Anthony Joseph, William Jaggs and Jamie Limbrick, the group includes Alex Candiotis, 24, who tried to murder a Broadmoor nurse last year by slitting his throat with a CD case.
He has ordered Numark headphones and turntable equipment. Schizophrenic Barrington McKenzie, 25 - who stabbed a stranger to death in a MUSIC STUDIO - has ordered hip-hop CDs to mix in the education centre at the hospital near Crowthorne, Berks.
The source said: "It is up to them how often they do it. They are encouraged to socialise.
"When you look at what they have done to their victims, it hardly looks like they are paying the price.
"But Broadmoor is an NHS hospital and everyone inside is classed as a patient rather than a criminal so they're treated with kid gloves.
"God only knows what sort of music they come up with.
"Surely there is something a lot more beneficial they could be doing to help the community."
But a Broadmoor spokesman said: "Social activities - particularly those involving music or other creative arts - are a vital part of recovery and risk management.
"Patients are encouraged to take part in activities that engage them socially and give balance and variety in their day as they are less likely to present risks to themselves or others while in our care.
"Music is often used in mental health care for its therapeutic benefits.
"Like anyone else treated in hospital, our patients have the right to purchase music or other items."

Just a little bit of Nottinghameese. Just say it how it reads, and you've got a bit of the Nottingham accent, which, apparently is very difficult to learn!

What next, MS sufferers ? To use Peter Sutcliffe as the example..... He killed the woman over many years whilst holding down a job and using a fair amount of mental Pre-Meditation when he attacked each one. He has also shown his academic abilities whilst In prison. Hardly, a derranged loony gibbering In a padded cell.

OK Grumps. I'll endeavour to participate with 'your' thread in a sensible, and correct manner.
In my opinion, the inmates of Broadmoor have been incarcerated in such an institution because they are criminally insane. There is a similar high security institution fairly near to where I live, called Rampton. The 'patients' within these institutions are, indeed, very dangerous. It is the intention of the governors, doctors etc, to do their best to encourage the 'patients' to become involved in various activities, to try to re-habilitate them. It would appear that some of these 'activities' involve expensive equipment like the paraphenalia used in recording and playing music, which is seemingly funded by the patients themselves.
Maybe some of them will be successfully rehabilitated, sufficiently for a re-assessment to be carried out, and for those patients to be allowed to be released back into the community under supervision, when their sentence is completed. Many patients will never be allowed this privilege.
I, personally, have mixed feelings about ever releasing such people back into the community, as I am not convinced that such a person can ever be re-habilitated to the degree that would be essential for such a person to mix safely with the general public.
