I went after work to fill up the 'fridge, only 4 in line in front of me, I thought I was pretty lucky. Storm comes in tomorrow morning, while we are all at school.:-3

I thankfully have enough meat, etc. I can't believe stores before a snow storm! It always killed me how they would come into the store where I worked, get bread, milk, beer, and cigarettes. Never baby food or diapers. :-3

Hi Chonsi,

We seemed to have posted about the same time about our upcoming storm.....scary indeed isn't it. We have to make up 3 snow days so far, and if this does turn out to be as bad as they say.....we might have a lot more days off:-1

Stay safe:-4

Oh no, school is scheduled for us. But I bet they will call a half day during the morning, if they are wise.

About 10 in the morning, maybe earlier. It will be an interesting day at school. And a hard commute back home when they let us go.

Only plan on stopping at the library on the way home, it is a few blocks away. Was closed last weekend due to that snowstorm, and I need some books to just kick back and relax. :D

Hi Mustang:-6

Can I add my 2 cents.

We have to work 180 days a year. Some schools add extra days to the calendar year for snow days or other emergencies. But, for some schools...if you don't use them...you lose them and work extra days.

My school district does not add snow days anymore due to living along the coast. We often have snow or rain and have a 90 minute delay.

This year before Christmas we had 3 days off due to snow and will make up those days at the end of the year. That was our union's agreement wth our Board of Ed.

You have to teach 180 days and each district decides when to make up those days.

We have 5 snow days built into our calendar. I think we have used 2, maybe 3. Any extra days taken off, unless forgiven by the state (which 1 was) will be taught at the end of the year.

Thank you both for the explanation. :)

Longer school year for you both and the students if you go over the limit. Makes sense. ;)
