How horrible! Now I am wondering if some of the other building nearby will have problems, they have some wonderful collections and research facilities.

That's why where I live we have to hire "roof shovelers" when the snow gets to a certain amount. If you don't then the insurance won't pay for damage caused by a roof collapse.

I have family who live in the Washington/Baltimore area. I sure hope they are staying warm and safe. The weather up there sure looks rough on the news.

I plan on taking a photo tomorrow. I have an icicle I estimate to be about 16' - 18' long and 1 1/2' - 2' in diameter hanging from my roof. Apparently Im not very observant because I didnt see it until yesterday.

A piece of siding is about 6-8" wide. Count the siding and multiply.

I think he/she was questioning my icicle length estimating abilities. Why I never ! If each piece of siding is 6" in width then that would put me right on the money with my guess as to how long it is.

This person should be banned immediately.

YW is Your welcome!

And your response reflects more about you than me.

I was just helping, and posted something that can help observers determine the length of that icicle. You didn't post a length number. I didn't use any insulting names or words and i hinestly didn't mean to insult anyone.

I can see why there are the usual members posting here. The average of 30 online? The rest guests?

HELLO to u 2 Nomad!

With this kind of welcome: "This person should be banned immediately", even posted as a "joke" i guess ya'll may as well fund this whole place and make it a private club!

I don't consider that a Joke.

Have a Great day!
