Yep here goes the "ban anything that comes from Alberta Oil sands".
"Whole Foods Market, a U.S.-based grocery chain that caters to high-end, health conscious consumers, recently moved to stop using any fuel sourced from Alberta oilsands in its supply chain"
"Apparel retailer Bed Bath & Beyond also recently expressed concern over the environmental footprint of Alberta oilsands, and though the company stopped short of an outright ban, it vowed to "follow up with our service providers on this issue ¦ to continue to remind them of our position and concern.""

I shant be shopping at either store given their close minded attitudes.
Below are a few links of other contributors to Global warming etc... funny how after the recent summit we are now the "whipping boys" for all the tree huggers. It is a pity really.

TerraNature | Melting permafrost methane emissions: Another threat to climate change
I wish I could find another article I read on new scientist however it recently posted an article on the fact that our black shingles on our roof's contribute to global warming.....
There is the key phrase, "contributes to global warming" Our oil sands contribute a very very small amount to the overall global warming.
Yes we contribute to the global warming, yes the footprint of the oil sands is large. But lets be fair, our footpring is nothing like what has happned to the amazon, our emissions of methane are a very small part of what goes into the air globally.
This appears to be very unfair to us here in Alberta given the fact that over the last 30 years of Albertas history we have made GREAT strides at tidying up our environmental impact when it comes to anything Oil and Gas related.
Well kick us in the Oil Sands

Well kick us in the Oil Sands
Ok, I skimmed through the article and still have'nt figured out how using fuel derived from Alberta oilsands is any worse than fuel derived in any other way. Or how it is any bigger footprint than any other fuels.:-3
Well kick us in the Oil Sands
That does it, no more shopping at Bed Bath and Beyond.:yh_rotfl

well apparently so.
I know at the last G whatever summit they decided we are the cause of all things terrible. Ok an exaggeration but the frustration comes from the fact that we are deemed the worst contributors of these emissions yet reports show we pale in comparisson to say.... China... it's very unfair.

Well kick us in the Oil Sands
I think it's just a way to slow Canada's economic growth and prosperity.
The same thing happened with the SARS scare, Mad Cow, The BC Lumber trade, and Pork to name a few.
How many Canadian started companies have gone under or were bought up buy foreign investors also?
If business's and the people within our own nation boycott our own home produced products then where will we be?
It's not just the Oil sands. But Biz Monopolies stifle the overall economy.
We got BIG problems today.
I'm not an economic genius, don't understand completely the dynamics of finance, or the stock market
but i can see when something Reeks of unfairness and corruption.
Educate me!

I can't say as I agree with that. I work for a Canadian comapny, we are Canadian Owned and operated, we have offices in Russia and Peru, we sell to India and the USA I don't fee anyone is trying to stifle us.
I think it's a bit of a global misconception our Oil Sands are. I also have to wonder if it is because we have dragged our feet over the Kyoto Affair. We got our wrists slapped and suddenly it's all about the Oil Sands, a very easy target. Takes the attention off the super powers like China, and also make the world look away yet again at the Amazon.
