This was the platform of the nazi's.

Freehealth care

guaranteed jobs

confiscated wealth inherited

spent vast sums on education

purged church from public policy

declared war on smoking

supported abortion

supported euthanasia

gun control

loathed the free mkt.

provided generous pensions for elderly

maintained strict racial quota in the universities-where campus speech codes were all the rage

led the world in organic farming and alternative medicine

Leader was strict vegetarian.

You seem to be quite the authority on the Third Reich.

It would be interesting to see some of the research that backed up some of these claims.

Hitler also built the Autobahn, so I assume by your measure anybody who drives on a superhighway is a Nazi.

The National Socialists also rebuilt their military (while ignoring the Versailles treaty). Something no American Liberal will ever do.

But it is true. The Reichstag essentially willingly and knowingly voted itself out of existence and handed all power to the new charismatic Chancellor.

You can find copies of the Enabling Act of 1933 in several places on the web.

There is also a good WW2 timeline at The History Place.

As I still cannot post hotlinks, and don't want to be accused of promoting something again, you'll have to go there yourself.

The first thing hitler did was suspend habeas corpus using a terrorist attack as his excuse to do so and then arrest all the left wing and liberal reichstag deputies that would have opposed him and held them without trial. Sound familiar? He then set out to intimidate those that were left by intimidation.

He also wanted christianity and traditional values to be at the hearty of a new germany. The only ones that spoke out and voted against it were the social democrats the socialists having been arrested.

You really don't know much about the nazis do you hoppy? Or is it a case that you are one and want to see democracy end in the united states and a right wing take over. You do rather come across like you would have been outside in an SA uniform.

The similarities of the expressions on the faces of the individuals in the following two photo's is interesting. Notice the expressions on the faces (especially the mouth) of the four republican staffers sitting behind senator Lindsey Graham and that of Hitler.

Hitler's SA were Sturm Abteilung (Storm Section). Or, brownshirts. And yes, if this were 1775 I would be in a brownshirt, known here as buckskins. I fully expect the 'crats to use these "threats" and window breakings as an excuse to turn down the screws on even more of our freedoms.

Hitler and Graham's staffers look actively angry and hostile while Browne appears pensive.
