Greetings from the land of smiles

Post by Affinity One »

Hello everyone,

Here is a greeting from Thailand, the land of smiles. Just joined the board and make my first post.

Daunting task it really is. I'll try to make some contribution to other threads first. Perhaps get to know some of you out there.

Is this like that Puff The Magic Dragon song where you think its just about a regular dragon hanging out or whatever but really its about a dragon that smokes marijuana pot?

We all know about Thai stick. Is this why everyone is walking around smiling, because youre all stoned?

Do you guys get the Flinstones on tv there?

What do you eat when you get the munchies?

I live in the county of Nottingham, in the Midlands of the UK. I know Norfolk quite well, as we have had many holidays there. We hired a boat years ago on the Norfolk Broads (a cabin cruiser), and thoroughly enjoyed it. We are trying to move to Norfolk to live, but for the present we live in Robin Hood country ! :-6 :D

Sorry I haven't checked in for a few days.

Nottingham eh? How is the Forest doing this year?

I liked it then when I was in Norwich. Think it was less busy than other cities.

Castle was great. In the summer it was not bad at all.

But went back there a few years ago and what they have done to the castle!!!

They've put shopping mall in the hill underneath the castle!

What have they got for brain?!!

Never been to thailand which is my loss I think. Been watching a couple of thai films, fascinating because it seems to alien. Don't mean that quite the way it sounds i just mean the culture is so different. Are you seeing much of what is going on in bangkok?

Now you should visit us at least once. Of course, any different culture would seem alien to those who are not accutomed to it. Would take some time to get familiar with the culture.

Yes I see what is happening in Bangkok. And I feel very sad of what One man can do to his country just for the money.

Well we had blair and now brown but in their case I'm not sure what the motive was. Does stupidity need a reason?
