With about 30% of major league baseball players being of Hispanic or Latino descent the hits are beginning to fly in the sport of baseball regarding this new Arizona immigration law. I've stumbled upon two articles out of the blue tonight.
Fallout from immigration law tars Arizona Diamondbacks
Bud Selig should move 2011 MLB All-Star Game out of Arizona if new immigration law isn't stopped
I've never really thought about it before, but there aren't many Hispanics or Latinos in any other American sports, are there? Maybe soccer?

Not sure if you'd be delighted to have me "tar" your thread up Ahso! but I will attest quite vividly that Latinos play World Football more vigorously and baseball is by far popular among the peoples of Mexico, along with Puerto Rico, Haiti, Cuba, Dominican Republic etc...I don't see how sports are relevant at all. The law is either moral or not moral.
Quite frankly MLB will get it's dominant players any way they choose and this will not effect the Diamondbacks in the least.

Why is it suddenly everyone's business what Arizona does within it's borders? Look at the crap that Texas gets away with.
Besides - what part of "illegal" doesn't everyone understand? These are criminals every seems to want to protect!

Besides - what part of "illegal" doesn't everyone understand? These are criminals every seems to want to protect! You obviously haven't read any of the articles. If there was a law requiring members to read every article in a thread before they posted in that thread then you'd be a criminal right now. Thats how easy it is to label people criminals.
But back to the thread. The problem talked about in these articles has to do with legal immigrants. But you didn't know that did you?

Quote Ah-So
"If there was a law requiring members to read every article in a thread before they posted in that thread then you'd be a criminal right now."
Sounds like a weener to me Ah-so.........
Require people to read a link before they can post to the thread.......
Fits right in with requiring me to pay for others insurance...
Any dummy can tell you that all your links are hit pieces on Arizona's great new STATE law......
Example #1
Fallout from immigration law tars Arizona Diamondbacks
HMM wonder what that might be about?????
What fall out are they refering too? More Americans agree with it than oppose it!
Natl. Poll: More favor than oppose Arizona immigration law - CNN (blog)
Opinion polls show broad support for tough Arizona immigration law - Christian Science Monitor
Example #2 (or, why I won't read your links)
Bud Selig should move 2011 MLB All-Star Game out of Arizona if new immigration law isn't stopped
Why should I read that trash..............you have at it son!!!

Theres that victimization theme again.
If we all wanted to play the victim game we could cry foul and irresponsibility on people who neglect to keep their vitamin D levels up thus causing ailments like diabetes, NS and cancer. Thats personal neglect which causes my health care costs to rise. Whats happened to personal responsibility? My levels are up, how are yours?

A police officer witnesses the infraction. The law, signed last week by Gov. Jan Brewer, requires that “where reasonable suspicion exists ¦ a reasonable attempt shall be made ¦ to determine the immigration status of the person. The Venezuelan player, accordingly, is asked to furnish paperwork proving his legal residence, a new burden of proof under SB 1070. If he happens to have forgotten his passport and work visa at home, his friend would get a traffic ticket and the player would get significantly more. Baseball alarmed by Arizona immigration law - MLB - Yahoo! Sports
Firstly, Yahoo is crap.
Secondly the legal immigrants will not be find as eluded to in the above quote because his social security number will bring him up as a legal resident. The means to achieve that goal takes about 5 minutes.
Thirdly, people choose to give either more or less credit to other peoples' intelligence based primarily off of their own biased and stubborn nature for reasons that don't interest me in the least. This law will assuredly have it's "downside" by "apparent" racial profiling but these people know the word on the streets. The streets never lie.
As for the morality of the law I find to be heavily arguable given the fact the lack of honor in ALLOWING! the people's of Mexico, and other countries, in the U.S. because capitalism will for quite some time reign "supreme" in the land everyone is pleased to call "free". BLAH! :yh_sick!
