My Wife's New Leg

Post by Saint_ »

You know, I didn't think the sight of a full-grown woman taking a few tentative steps on her new leg would affect me that much....but it sure did! Thanks to all of you for the moral support during a tough time for us!:-4

I know a guy whose legs are both prosthetic. I was so amazed when I found out. I knew him for quite a while before I found out his legs were prosthetic.

I wish you and your wife, nothing but the best also. :-4

Once she's confident on that one, check the shops for the bouncy Olympic sort that'll let her run fast.

I'm glad she's getting there, being stuck in one place all the while must be difficult.

She wants a leg that looks like her real one, body-image and all that. (You know girls!) ;)

I told her she needs to get one with a flipper on it for swimming!:D

There's pride to be taken in doing what you gotta do. The only horrifying things I've seen are what people have allowed to happen because they were afraid of dealing with a problem. I've seen recent "jokes" about women missing a leg on Friends and Family Guy and I'm sure she'll come across things like that and feel insecure but she has you loving her and that's more than a lot of other women could wish for.

She's a beautiful woman. Congratulations to you both.
