I don't think very much of this latest series. It's not so much the fault of the actors, who are reasonable, as the simply dreadful scripts, which seem to have been written with some twisted idea of "relevance", the addition of a dose of "sex", and the interference/spoiling of the historical series. Steven Moffat should be thoroughly ashamed of himself. So should the BBC, for thinking this a good thing. It ain't.

Personally I quite like it. After louise jamieson the current one is a bit scrawny and overdressed, then there was the one that posed nude with a dalek plunger - katy manning i think it was. Nicola byrant (peri) wasn't exactly virginal either.

It's a children's programme, not an adult's. They don't need impenetrable plots or sexual tittilation (however slight).

I think you underestimate the ability of the average child to follow a complicated plot and you're putting your own perspective on it. The sexual tittilation has always been there in one way or another.

As someone who remembers hiding behind the settee when the daleks are on and all the controversy about children's programmes being so frightening and also the controversy about louise jamieson I think you miss the point about Dr Who and should stop watching it immediately.

Year, right. When has another Dr. Who assistant been in a scene where they've tried to literally drag the Dr. into bed during an episode. Answer, never.

Perhaps you're right. The series that I think is the worst is the ones with Jon pertwee and the Leonard McCoy. After them anything is better.

It's always difficult getting used to the new Drs when he regenerates, I think Matt Smith slipped into the role perfectly.

I suspect there's an overarching plot for the entire series, and the assault on the Dr's sensibilities was part of that. Along with her not remembering Daleks. The new chap's character is definitely going through a personal crisis though. Which, fitted onto last year's events, is quite a coherent bit of plot. I'm just wondering when his mother's going to show up again.

As said, the actor's fine - thoughts from the YM (nearly 8 1/2 y.o.) are:

Doesn't like the "fat" colourful daleks (neither do I).

Liked the "military" daleks very much (I didn't!).

Doesn't like the inside of the TARDIS (I do, except for the re-designed up/down thing).

Is ambivalent about Smith - a great come-down from Tennant, he says, but might "get better" (I think he's OK).

Was very confused about "pregnant" Amy and shenannigans.

Thought the "Weeping Angels" "were not scary" in the latest episodes. Had bad dreams about the previous (& superior, says he) "Blink" (I observe no bad dreams about latter two episodes).

Doesn't think "the music" is very good, but likes that tubey thing the TARDIS goes along in the intro/credits.

There'd be more, I'm sure.

I'm with him on the angels, they weren't that interesting first time around either. That episode was a bit ho-hum.
