Good question......................... I'll try to find out. I can see no sign of a 'quick' button for the arcade like there was before the upgrade. grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr :-5

Ey up me ducks! It's too bloody hot today!!!! and I'm busy sorting stuff for the tip. It is going to be closed in August! Then we will have nearly 10 miles round trip instead of 2 !!! :-5:-5:-5 bloody cost cutting! All it will do is increase 'fly-tipping' that the council will have to pay extra for their employees to have to clear up! False economy, but they aint listening!

I've done some washing and it's enjoying the sunshine, I've been doing some tidying up and dusting and hoovering. Gawd I'm knackered! I'm only doing this stuff today, because the forecast is that Saturday will be hotter, and Sunday we're gonna all melt ffs! In the 30's. I've got hay fever, and I don't get hay fever ! Chris has got hay fever. We're sneezing all over the place! High UV and High pollen count. The council buggers mowed all the grass around here yesterday, hence the hay fever :-5 Oh well I suppose I shouldn't complain, at least we haven't got terrible floods like they had in the South of France, last week! Mind you they're saying it's on the cards that they will bring in a hosepipe ban in the North West, if they don't get rain soon - the reservoirs are half empty, and summer is only just begun! Can't understand it, as we've had a good bit of rain all over this country so far this year. It's no good the authorities will have to seriously think about constructing more de-salination plants around the coast. Using the sea water, if only for watering the agricultural land! Innit marvellous? a few days of sunshine and they're shouting 'hosepipe ban!' :-5:yh_rotfl

Hi Helen, you take it easy Mrs. Keep that foot up! Might help sticking it in a bowl of cold water! I do that sometimes, when it is particularly hot - it's very soothing, and such a relief. :)

Yep it sounds like your Wally is really having a great time, bless him!

Hope you get all your bedroom furniture organised over the weekend, then you'll be settled. Aaaaah (sigh) :-6:D

Well, good afternoon!:yh_rotfl

It sucks when its that hot, two days was enough for me and its coming back again next week.

That's just insane being closed in August, everyone should protest.:-5

Oh they have complained and sent letters etc etc :-5 But we are told that the tip needs urgent refurbishment, repairs etc, and it is not worth the expense! They overlook the fact that it is the busiest tip probably in the county! People will just sneak up to the entrance road at night and dump their rubbish there! It happened before, when they had to close the tip for 2 or 3 weeks!

Just a little something to go with the weather we're having at the moment!

Ey up m d ! :yh_rotfl gettin' lazy :wah:

The temp here (inside me sitting room is up to 76F already. Windows have been open for hours - curtains closed to keep sun out of room (leaving gaps for air to come in!) , fan is on max, quite pleasant really. Rex is sprawled out fast asleep, not panting or stressed at all ! We have to leave his walk till early evening in this heat, and take him where there are a lot of trees for shade. At least there is a little breeze today!

Odie, the local tip is closing permanently in August. :-5

Well I suppose we'll do as much tidying, washing and vaccing as we can today, because it will not be a good idea to do much tomorrow! Going to be up to 90+ F Sunday! :-6 :D

Good Afternoon Gill & Helen!

now where have some of our icons gone?:sneaky:

Good Lord Helen, you and Wally need your own swimming pool to beat this heat.:yh_rotfl

That is a shame you don't have garbage pick up for all that stuff.

Gill, good idea closing up the curtains, I do the same thing here when its that hot.

why would they close it permanently, that's just ridiculous!

well, cleaned the fish tank, vacuumed and swept, painted two doors, its pouring so a great day for indoor chores.

here's some coffee for us!

Gill, after uploading a pic, I drag it with the box marked, then what do I do?

I have tried everything that is there!:-5:-5

evenin all,

its been a cracking day here, wall to wall sunshine..........

decided to go and watch football in one of the pubs this afternoon, what a let down that all was too :(

we were sitting outside before the game and a young guy picked up his beer from the table behind me, tripped over and the whole pint went straight down my back :-2

he was absolutely mortified by what he had done and rushed to get a towel to dry me off ........ i forgot about the footy after that........ the highlight of my day was being patted dry by a very nice looking young man :wah:

sadly the day has ended in tradgedy for someone..... all the rescue services were called out and we could see the big search and rescue helicoptors scouring the sea at the bottom of the cliffs along with the air ambulance, life boat and some jet skis..............

the last i heard, the beach had been closed off............ will have to wait and see whats on our local news tomorrow...

Oh dear Helen, that sounds rather ominous about all the emergency services, and all the searching going on. Please keep us posted if you can. Sounds like some family is going to have a bad time of it, doesn't it. They don't normally close off the beach, do they, unless there's a potential tragedy. :(

That is sad news, this happens on our waters every weekend.

sunny nice day today, woke up way to early so will start more chores then off to the fish store!

afternoon all,

we didnt get very much rain after all, think all it did was lay the dust !! the suns out again after a dull start and its just as ruddy hot !!!

just been down to visit my barrie's grave, obvious again that none of his " adoring " family havnt been anywhere near it and im afraid ive left a really bitchy comment on face book about it being a shame that the care taken to get hold of what he left behind when he died hasnt been lavished on his final resting place.

im a lot stronger now than i was 5yrs ago when he died so let them have something to say to me now............................ im ready for them this time !!!!!

Last night, I was woken from a deep sleep by a huge explosion of thunder, flashing lightning, but no rain! Took ages to get back to sleep! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Today it has been very warm again, and this evening it is warm and close (again). I just sleep with a sheet over me - it's too darn hot otherwise!

Ere, Odie, stop bullying me mate ! Helen knows not to overdo things - don't you Helen ?

:(

So glad it feels a lot easier now. Have you had all your pins and things out yet?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a combination of hot sticky weather, and a bit of walking. Still you'll know not to do that again now...................... won't you Mrs :p  Did you soak your foot and ankle in cold water when you got back home?

- Gill, that's not bullying Helen, I am trying to stop her from overdoing it, as she has been for a month.:-5

Have you not heard how many times her ankle's been swollen from running around?

if she doesn't stop abusing it, its going to get worse.:-5

right Helen?:sneaky::yh_rotfl

steady girls !!!!! no fighting or will you both be on the naughty step !! lol

the rain didnt come last night but its looking very dark out there right now and the wind has certainly got up..............

i got some nice strawberries yesterday so i think i will put them in the bottom of one of those packet trifles ive got in the cupboard, i didnt buy any cake or biscuits cos ive got to shed some of this weight thats crept on so the trifle will do for when i want a suger fix !!!!!

wally is still attending play school, i asked if they had any jobs going the other day for when i get better and apparantly, they are recruiting more people around my area.

if i stick to little dogs that arnt likely to give me a rough time then i should be ok.................. beats going back to peeling spuds dosnt it ???

as for the ankle..................... it suddenly seems to have freed itself, ive been religiously doing my excersises, not had the pins out gill, they seem to think i dont need to but i did wonder if that wasnt the problem !!!

Ey up me ducks! It's hot today, again. :-5

Having to help somebody out all this week, so I've been a bit distracted, to say the least. A friend of my son's. Our son is away so cannot help. We're going to take a week away at our static and taking the friend with us - it may help him. We'll be going Sunday and returning the following Sunday. Just hope things improve. Also our dear Rex is having difficulty with his back legs - he's OK once he's up and walking, it's just the getting up that is a problem for him, poor love. Still, he is doing well for 16 years this October, for a German Shepherd! Things just happen all at once don't they :-5:-5 Well here's hoping we can get through all this, and come out the other end smiling!

Hope you are all OK :-6 :D

Rex is doing well for being 16 and German Shepard's are known for hind leg arthritis. Our neighbours walk theirs everyday and he limps which means he is in pain, but they say he had to keep mobile as it helps the stiffness.

Seems you have your hands full taking care of your son's friend.

I wish you some rain and cooler weather.

hi all,

just been into town to watch the carnival or what there was of it !!!

the sky high insurance on the floats taking part these days has stopped a lot of people taking part, half the time they are frightened of any accidents and ending up getting the pants sued off them.............no community spirit anymore just grab grab grab !!!! such a shame............

other than that, nothing exciting has happened this weekend except it rained a bit earlier and saved me having to water my plants lol
