Who here uses the front page's tools to see who's online and to view the new discussions? Or, do you mainly stay on the forum pages and use the tools there?

Should FG have its current front page? Or would you like it better if you went directly to the forum area?

I usually just stay on the forum pages, it doesn't matter to me who's online.

Inquiring minds! The FG homepage is what attracted me to the site. It's easy to see what's foremost on the members' minds to help a visitor decide if this forum might be for them. It's far more appealing and user friendly than any other home page I've come across. Even though I don't use it alot now, I definitely thought of it as a kind of lifeline when I first came, being a novice user.

Think of it as a nice sitting room or foyer. Sure, we residents have our favorite rooms & know every shelf and hidey hole, but we need a place for newbies and visitors to feel welcome.

I like the FG front page as is-I always look to see who is online, and the latest thread topics that are there.

The front page is an important part of the site.

I have three buttons on my browser bookmark toolbar and I always use those to check the site. They point to a Modified Who's Online, my Subscriptions page and Today's Posts and they save having to get to the top of whatever page I'm viewing before I can relocate.

I think the front page ('Home') is Forum Garden ! I agree with Acc. I prefer to keep the front page, it is good for visiting guests to have a quick look at what is happening in the forum. It is far better than other sites' front page, IMO I say 'HOLD THE FRONT PAGE' (smile and wink)

The front page is like a big welcome mat for visitors and us regulars. I like it. It changes every day. I usually proceed to my profile page to check any replies to my posts or threads. After that, I go back to the front page where I still feel welcome.
