Santana / Steve Winwood

Carlos and his band shot onto the stage burning it up. They went heavy on the percussion with their usual jazz/blues/latin influence and as always his guitar lit up the arena. I prefer his sweet long drawn out notes and chords and there were plenty of those. His spiritual moments and givings which he shares with his audience are always a pleasure.

It was Steve Winwood that really got in me though. The highlight for me was when he did Marvin Gayes Makes Me Wanna Holler. It was a really really nice night and my wife was amazing. She was shining !

MOTTO TO LIVE BY:

"Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, champagne in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming.

WOO HOO!!, what a ride!!!"

Oh good on you Lon. His bongo guy was spectacular. Its nice now because they have those big LCD screens behind the stage and you get close ups of the masters at work. Gets you right up on the stage.

We saw a concert on the beach at Santa Cruz last year but Carlos wasn't with them. I think he was doing a run at Las Vegas. Gregg Rolie was singing though and a couple of his original band were there.
